Minnesota Vikings +4
Cam Newton has been covering a lot of spreads almost by himself this season. I think that stops this week. Minnesota is the more talented team. They hung tough with the best team in football last week. With Christian Ponder under center this offense is back to looking legit. And Adrian Peterson is playing an an MVP level right now. On the other side of the ball Cam Newton is covering up for a pretty bad Panthers team. They are a mess on defense. The running game isn't working that well. And they are playing really, really sloppy (something like 13 penalties last week). I think Purple Jesus has a huge day, and the Vikings win this one straight up.

New York Giants -9.5
The last time I took the Giants at home with this big of a spread against a bad team (the Seahawks) they choked. I can't see that happening again. The Dolphins are terrible, and I don't like Matt Moore having to go into NY in this one. Miami lost a heartbreaker to the Broncos last week, and I don't see them having the mental toughness to shake it off and come out strong in this one. Meanwhile, the G-Men are coming off a bye. I look for them to step on the throat of a dying dog this week.

New England Patriots -3
The Steelers a home underdog? Has hell froze over? The reason is that this is a really overrated Steelers team right now. The defense is old. They have played some weak teams the last few weeks to pad their defensive stats, but don't be fooled. They are still an above average defense, but they aren't what they used to be. The Roethlisberger to Mike Wallace combo might be the most lethal in football, but I don't think that'll be enough. The Patriots/The Hoodie are coming off a bye week. They have had success in the past against this Steelers defense by spreading them out, and letting Tom Brady perform surgery. Brady is completing 70% of his passes against the Steelers the last 3 games, and has not been sacked once. I don't think there is anything Dick LeBeau can do to slow Brady down. Its not a matter of scheme, they just don't have the personal in the secondary.

Seattle Seahawks +3
I don't like the Bengals having to travel across the country and play in the loudest stadium in the league with a rookie QB. I know he's a very good rookie QB, but I don't care. The Bengals will be without Cedric Benson and Rey Maulaluga as well. The Seahawks played about as badly as an offense can play last week, but their defense was pretty stout against the Browns. I think they will bounce back a bit on offense, and win this one straight up.

Buffalo Bills -6
I don't know the Redskins seem like a mess. John Beck didn't get off to a great start last week. Jabar Gaffney is now their #1 WR after a slew of injuries. And they lost Tim Hightower for the year. I'm not sold on the Bills, but one thing for certain is that they can score points. So I'll take them at home here, after a bye week.

STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS - WEEK 7

Alright first time I'm sober when writing my picks down in 3 weeks. Let's see if we can get a 5-0 week here.  I'm trailing my master Vik in the standings, and I need this to change. Let's call this underdog week at Docksquad sports...

New York Jets +2
I know, I know, I know...the Jets have looked pathetic so far. They finally got a win last week against a terrible Dolphins team. But the reason I like this pick is that the Chargers haven't looked much better. Ryan Mathews has been stellar, but by in large they haven't shown that spark that caused many people to say they would be playing in the Super Bowl this year. The teams they have beat so far are the Vikings, Chiefs, Dolphins, and Broncos. They lost to the Patriots at Foxborough. Add the fact that this is a west coast team traveling to New York for a 1 pm eastern game, and I think the Jets pull this one out. The public is all over the Chargers in this one. So I'll fade. Jets win this one straight up.

Denver Broncos +1
I think the Tebow era starts off with a bang as they win in Miami for the first time ever (I think..I'm too lazy to fact-check this one). I don't think he's the solution long term in Denver (see: Matt Barkley) but I think he's going to change the culture in that locker room right away. Kid is a winner. The national champion Florida Gators are being honored at halftime of this game in Miami (???) so I think what is normally a terrible home Dolphins crowd will be even more pro-Bronco. I think the Broncos will wildcat the hell out of the Dolphins and Tebow will make more plays than Matt Moore. Keep in mind the Broncos are coming off a bye week, while the Dolphins played on Monday night.

Atlanta Falcons +4
I like picking against teams that are coming off winning/losing streaks. For instance, the Lions were on the huge streak of ATS wins, and lost last week at home. The Niners had a solid gameplan of controlling the ball on offense with getting some pressure on Stafford using just there front 4. I think the Falcons do the same here and keep this one close so I'll take the points. The Niners gashed the Lions defense with the run in the second half. Hello, Michael Turner. The Falcons do struggle at times against the pass so I think the Stafford-Megatron combo will get theres this week too. The Niners got 5 sacks on Stafford last week, and a ton of pressures/hurries. I think the Falcons will use the same formula and keep this one close.

Arizona Cardinals +4
I believe the sharps are all over this line, just as they were over the Jaguars last week when they played the Steelers. The Steelers are really dinged up. Now they have to travel to the desert which is never easy for an east coast team. They are getting healthier, but I think this is the perfect spot for the Steelers to lay an egg as they may be looking ahead to the Patriots next week. The public will be all over the Steelers in this one, so I'll fade.  Look for Larry Fitzgerald to have a huge day against Ike Taylor. I also think a resurgent Beanie Wells will have a nice day. Conversely, Mike Wallace has turned into maybe the biggest deep play threat in football (yes, more than Megatron and Desean Jackson...check his $tats). So that scares may as the Arizona secondary will be without Kerry Rhodes, and struggles even when he is in there. But I think it'll take some late Big Ben magic to pull this one out, so I'll take the points.

Indianapolis Colts +14Absolutely no logic to this one. On paper, the Saints should win this one by 40 coming off that loss to the Bucs. But its Sunday night, and weird things happen on Sunday night. This is the most the Saints have ever been favored by in a game against anyone. But it seems to me that the Saints play down or up to their competition. There has got to be some type of adjustment with Sean Payton in the booth instead of on the field. And believe it or not, the Colts are not half bad this year without Peyton. They have been fiesty in all their games. You gotta think the public will be all over the Saints, so I'll take the points again. I think the Colts will keep it close for 3, and eventually lose in the 4th.

STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS - WEEK 5

Took a lot of favs last week, but am loving the dogs this week...

Chiefs +3 (hook)
This might seem like a crazy bet, but I definitely have my reasons. The Colts are playing on a short week after their MNF game. They also have huge injuries to their OLINE, at RG, but more importantly their RT and LT. They have a Tackle that they literally just scooped off the street, and a Guard playing Tackle to fill in this week for them. Now the Chiefs come into town and the Chiefs got great pressure on McNabb last week, so I expect them to get to Painter all game long. Tamba Hali is going to have a field day in this one and Painter won't have much time. And I look for Brandon Flowers to shut down Reggie Wayne as well. On the offensive side of the ball, the Colts are getting torched by WR1's, so look for Bowe to have a big game. McCluster is also dangerous, and will be even more on this field. It will be an ugly game, but I see the Chiefs winning this game straight up. I'll still take the points though!

Bengals -1
This will be an ugly game, but look for the Bengals to come out on top in this one. Both defenses are solid overall, but in the end, look for Blaine G to make mistakes that cost the Jags the game. Overall the Bengals are ranked 3rd against the pass and just shut down one of the hottest Qb's in the game in the Bills Fitz. If they did that to the hot Bills offense, what do you think they will do to this rookie Qb Blaine G? The Bengals are also only giving up 3.10 yards a carry, so look for MJD to struggle running the ball as well. The Bengals have just enough weapons on the offensive side of the ball and I think Gresham will have a big day and torch this Jags soft cover 2. Bengals win by 3 in a low scoring game...

Titans +4
The Steelers are decimated on their OLine and DLINE, and their QB is hobbling. Also, in year's past, the Steelers run defense has been a steel curtain, literally. But this year, they are getting shredded, and this game will be no change. CJ2K is going to light it up. And he gets his FB back too, which is an even bigger plus. Hass has also been lighting it up, and normally I wouldn't see him scoring on this Steelers D, but with their DLine struggling, Hass will have time. Look for him to work Cook in the middle of the field and have another big day. Their Defense is also awesome this year, and that will definitely keep them in this game. I see the Titans winning this game straight up. Either way, this is a Fg type game, so I will take the points.

Raiders +5
R.I.P. Al Davis. Look for the Raiders to play inspired tomorrow for him. I think this line is also a little inflated because of last week's results. The Texans won a big game, and the Raiders just were in a bad matchup vs the Pats. They have been great so far this year, and they still have their same dominant dline. I also know people think the Texans are going to be ok without AJ, but that is a big loss for them. Teams won't have to double team anyone, and the Raiders will be able to put another defender in the box to try to contain Foster tomorrow. On the flip side, the Texans are weak at defending the run, giving up a whopping 4.94 yards a carry. If they give that up to normal backs, what is going to happen against RUN DMC? Look for Run DMC to run wild, and I think this is going to be a FG win either way, so I will definitely take the points.

Giants -9 (hook)
This is a game where a West Coast team is traveling East for a noon game. On top of that, Eli Manning has been hot, and the Seahawks are terrible against the pass. Look for Nicks to blow up big time in this game vs a terrible CB and secondary. For the SHawks, TJAX had one of his best games last week, but look for him to come back to reality this weekend vs this Giants pass defense. They are going to abuse and batter him all game long, preventing him from hitting Rice deep. And Lynch and the Shawks running game is pretty non existent, so I just don't see how the SHawks are going to score or keep up with the Giants in this one. The Giants are also my survivor pick this week, so PLEASE GIANTS COME TO PLAY AND WIN THIS GAME LIKE YOU SHOULD! Giants by 2 tuddys!

Seattle and Tarvaris Jackson gotta travel all the way across America to play this game. A few times I had to travel across time zones just to wake up and go to weddings and shit. Literally I was too f'd up to do anyting. But I still drank and got wasted. Unfortuantely, NFL isn't life and the Seahawks arent gonna do shit. I'll take the faves.

KC Chiefs +2.5
I believe Bill Polian and the Colts will do anything in the name of J-e-s-u-s to get that #1 pick

Eagles -3
If there has ever been a back against the wall game this is it. Mike Vick. Dawg. People sayin things for a while. Man up dawg. I know you tryna get things right. Ack right. B right. Playa....enough is enough. Let that dog out. No pun intended.
