Minnesota Vikings +4
Cam Newton has been covering a lot of spreads almost by himself this season. I think that stops this week. Minnesota is the more talented team. They hung tough with the best team in football last week. With Christian Ponder under center this offense is back to looking legit. And Adrian Peterson is playing an an MVP level right now. On the other side of the ball Cam Newton is covering up for a pretty bad Panthers team. They are a mess on defense. The running game isn't working that well. And they are playing really, really sloppy (something like 13 penalties last week). I think Purple Jesus has a huge day, and the Vikings win this one straight up.

New York Giants -9.5
The last time I took the Giants at home with this big of a spread against a bad team (the Seahawks) they choked. I can't see that happening again. The Dolphins are terrible, and I don't like Matt Moore having to go into NY in this one. Miami lost a heartbreaker to the Broncos last week, and I don't see them having the mental toughness to shake it off and come out strong in this one. Meanwhile, the G-Men are coming off a bye. I look for them to step on the throat of a dying dog this week.

New England Patriots -3
The Steelers a home underdog? Has hell froze over? The reason is that this is a really overrated Steelers team right now. The defense is old. They have played some weak teams the last few weeks to pad their defensive stats, but don't be fooled. They are still an above average defense, but they aren't what they used to be. The Roethlisberger to Mike Wallace combo might be the most lethal in football, but I don't think that'll be enough. The Patriots/The Hoodie are coming off a bye week. They have had success in the past against this Steelers defense by spreading them out, and letting Tom Brady perform surgery. Brady is completing 70% of his passes against the Steelers the last 3 games, and has not been sacked once. I don't think there is anything Dick LeBeau can do to slow Brady down. Its not a matter of scheme, they just don't have the personal in the secondary.

Seattle Seahawks +3
I don't like the Bengals having to travel across the country and play in the loudest stadium in the league with a rookie QB. I know he's a very good rookie QB, but I don't care. The Bengals will be without Cedric Benson and Rey Maulaluga as well. The Seahawks played about as badly as an offense can play last week, but their defense was pretty stout against the Browns. I think they will bounce back a bit on offense, and win this one straight up.

Buffalo Bills -6
I don't know the Redskins seem like a mess. John Beck didn't get off to a great start last week. Jabar Gaffney is now their #1 WR after a slew of injuries. And they lost Tim Hightower for the year. I'm not sold on the Bills, but one thing for certain is that they can score points. So I'll take them at home here, after a bye week.
