NO PENALTY FOR RAJON RONDO

As Espn's Chris Sheridan reported earlier, Rondo is off the hook for that FLAGRANT FOUL he committed yesterday. Not even a fine. Wow. I don't care what the NBA says, I'm going to continue to call that play a FLAGRANT FOUL. What garbage.

And Bulls fans, did you really think the League was going to do something to the Celts or Rondo for this blatant FLAGRANT FOUL? Of course not! If they did, then the NBA was would look foolish right? That would be them basically admitting that the refs f'd up last night by not calling this a FLAGRANT FOUL, and they would never do that. It would open up a whole can of worms. The Bulls would probably file a protest then, so of course they were not going to do anything about this or even give them the option to do so. All of this is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. On one end, Stern and co. want to make sure the game is played with integrity after everything that happened in the last few years, yet on the other, things like this continue to happen all the time in the League...

Check out that photo above. Rondo hits Miller with a CLOSED FIST! Sweet attempt at the ball player. Or check out this video of the play in this angle, and please tell me Rondo went for the ball there. That looks more like a clothesline or a FISH HOOK than a play on the ball. Here's a tight post from TRUEHOOP about the play as well.

Matt from By the Horns makes a great point here as well...

Matt McHale of the Bulls blog By the Horns: "It's funny. Back in March, Trevor Ariza hit Rudy Fernandez in the head from behind and got treated like some sort of deranged serial killer. But I guess that play was different because Rudy, who was airborne at the moment of contact, got injured, and because Ariza is bigger than Fernandez. In this case, Miller was the big man, and he's certainly not a threat to leave the ground unless launched from a very sturdy catapult. Oh, and the Ariza-Fernandez incident occurred during the regular season, whereas this is the postseason, which made Rondo's mugging of Miller just a good, hard playoff foul, right? Suuuuuure. And I'm sure that seeing double at the line didn't affect Miller's free throw shooting, either."

Also, if you peep that video once more, check out Perkins arm hitting the rim(thanks Jim). Isn't that goaltending? I wrote Henry A at True Hoop asking about what he thought about that, so let's see what he thinks about that too.

Anyways, I know it's over with, but I just wanted to let any of you Bulls fans that were expecting a suspension for Rondo to know that it didn't happen. It's ok, because I want Rondo to play tomorrow. I want us to run them off the court by 20. Then I want Aaron Gray to come in and make "an attempt on the ball" when someone is going up. Playoff fouls right Doc?

Let's go Bulls, step up for yourselves and your fans! Let's smoke them tomorrow. The UC WILL BE ROCKING! GO BULLS!!!

P.S. Thanks a ton to my buddy Pravs for hooking me up with some tickets tomorrow. Can't wait...

P.P.S. Thanks for the Rondo video Sunny

BULLS CELTICS GAME 5 RECAP

I am so angry right now that I am shaking. I'm close to writing all sorts of expletives right now in this post, because that loss was such BS. It has me fuming. Yes the Bulls did pull a choke job, but did you all just expect the defending Champs to just lay down at home? Of course they had a run left in them at the end of the game. The Celts played great down the stretch and in OT, and their experience showed. PP hit some awesome shots, so you got to give him props too. There is not much more to it there on that front. But overall tonight, there is one person to blame that sticks out to me more than any other, and that is VDN. VDN pisses me off so much. Forget the fact that he has struggled all year long, because in the regular season it was easy to write it off the growing pains. But now for him to mess up like this in the playoffs is unacceptable. And he has been doing it all playoffs long. Anywyas, here are the VDN things I am fuming about from tonight's loss...

-VDN not calling any timeouts when the Celtics are making their run in the fourth quarter.

-VDN of course running out of timeouts at the end of the game.

-VDN, was that the best play you could draw up at the end of regulation with BGeezy just dribbling around and taking a contested fadeaway?

-VDN, did you tell Brad Miller after he missed the first ft, that he had to hit the rim on the second one? The poor guy was literally dazed and confused after getting rocked by Rondo. That might've helped.

-BUT THIS ONE PISSES ME OFF THE MOST. YOU GOT PAUL PIERCE HITTING SEVERAL JUMPERS FROM HIS SWEET SPOT AT THE ELBOW AT THE END OF THE GAME. AND ON THE LAST SHOT, EVEN MY DAD, MY IMAGINARY DOG, AND COUSIN IN INDIA KNOW THE BALL IS GOING TO PAUL PIERCE AND HE IS GOING TO TAKE THAT SHOT FROM THE ELBOW OF THE FREE THROW LINE. BUT YOU DON'T DOUBLE OR MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS IN THE GAME???

If you look at the tape, DRose is in perfect position to double team on that play off of his guy. Think about this VDN, the Celtics don't even have Ray Allen on the floor. They have Eddie House, Tony Allen, and Steph on the court. House hasn't hit a shot in 2 games, Steph did not even want to touch the ball and even passed up the last shot of regulation, and Tony Allen can't even hit the backboard on a J if he tried. None of these guys are big time players like PP is. So why do you not get the ball out of Paul Pierce's hands on that last shot? If PP even passes, which I doubt he will, you would have one of those three trying to hit a last second shot. If one of those guys beat you, they beat you. You tip your hat to them, and chalk it up as a L. But to lose the way we did today was plain moronic. I don't care what you do, but don't let PP get to his sweet spot and take that shot. VDN has been consistently bad all year long, but this game tonight takes the CAKE!

The funny thing is that in the post game press conference Vinny got asked if he thought about double teaming PP on that shot. His answer was yes he thought about it, but then went on to say some complete bs that did not even make sense. He went on saying PP had seen it all and we did throw doubles at him, etc. He didn't even answer the question and again, it didn't even make sense. K Gill even called him out on it and about not double teaming after the press conference on Comcast Sports. So ridiculous man.

Anyways, let me get my other random thoughts out before I go break something. I thought overall the Bulls played well, but as usual they had their usual mental lapses. DRose did not play well towards the end of the game. When the Celts were making their run, I expected him to take control of the squad and calm things down. Instead he drove a ball in and attempted a hasty layup which he missed, and on another play, he threw a very terrible oop attempt to Joakim after Joakim had stolen the ball. Rose played a well balanced, all around game, but he still had 6 turnovers. A few of them at very critical times. He has to learn to play under control himself and take control of the team at the end of the game. We need someone like that if we ever want to win a Chip, and he has to step up and be that GUY. I think people also need to realize that Rose is a rookie. I know that is no excuse, but originally people were excited for us just to make the playoffs just so Rose would get playoff experience. That was when no one thought we had a chance to win. But since we are now trying to win the series, of course expectations have been raised. I just think we all need to keep that thought in the back of our heads. Everything that is happening to him right now, is for the best, and is happening for a reason. Remember even Kobe shot airballs vs the Jazz in his first playoffs, but in the long run, he always says that made him stronger and better as a player.

Salmons and BGeezy were warriors tonight and have been in this series. They are playing with a ton of pain, and you got to give them credit for that. Both of them had their scoring bursts in the game, which they need to continue to do if we want a chance to win this series. TT should've been playing more tonight. He played well when he was out there. Hinrich was great too. His last two games remind me of the way dude was playing years ago, before he got that big contract. Joakim played amazing. People dog him, but the kid was just sick today. His hustle, defense and boarding kept us in the game. Brad Miller needs to hit those free throws. He played well when he was in there though, but he needs to limit his turnovers moving forward.

My thoughts on the Celtics. The first thing that comes to mind is that they are a very dirty team. The Celts have been committing hard fouls all series long. I can think of maybe 4 fouls right off the top of my head that should have been called Flagrants, that were not. What pisses me off is that they always go for our players heads. I know this is the playoffs and I know what playoff fouls are, but this is just ridiculous. Now I don't blame them for it, because if the refs don't care and are not calling it, then hey why not keep doing it.

Also, isn't it funny that after Perkins and Doc complain about foul calls, that he doesn't get any fouls called on him in this game? Ya the guy is a beast, but he hits someone every time down the court. Definitely fishy...

Also, my other random thought about the Celts. Sorry but these Celtics are punks. Celts, you guys know you are the defending Champs and the 2 seed in the playoffs right? By the way they are acting and talking, it doesn't look like it, does it? All of them bark so much, and KG barks the most. I've definitely lost respect for that guy. Here is a dope post by my buddy at Pippen Ain't Easy as he talks more about this topic. During the game, KG was barking at Miller calling him a choker and talking smack to Gordon as he was walking off of the court. Real classy man, you are so HARD! AHH MAN, we are all scared!

I think the Bulls need to get more physical and clap back on the Celts, but they need to do it smartly. Basically just do what the Celtics do. Whenever people go up for layups, clock them hard. These Celts remind me of those Old Pistons Squads that couldn't stop Jordan, so they just tried to chop him down on every play.

Last shot... how is that not a flagrant foul on Rondo at the end of the game? The dude literally knocked Miller's tooth out. How did he even go for the ball? Watch the video, then tell me that Rondo went for the ball. What's sad is that those refs did not have the stones to call it a flagrant foul there in Boston because it was the last play of the game. That's the truth of the matter, plain and simple. Rondo should be suspended for that hit, but I doubt he will be. Next time, I guess it is ok to just literally punch someone in the face when they are going up for their last shot of the game. Just knock them out and they won't hit their free throws and you win! Plain genius!

Anyways, since this one is over, there is nothing else we can do about it. But I will say this, these Bulls showed me a lot of heart in the way they played in Game 4, and even today. They did not just fold like the Hornets. This Bulls team is a team full of pride and heart and they have battled all series long. They are not going to go out like that, I just know it. And DRose is not going to go out like that either. The kid is special, and special players always bounce back after bad games, and he will bounce back in Game 6 in a big way. You heard it here first, the Bulls will win Game 6! They are going to win and send this one back to Boston. The crowd will definitely be behind them as well and they will be pumped. Let's see how it all plays out Thursday, and whatever happens, one thing is for sure, this series has been amazing to watch so far.

P.S. If anyone has a video of that Rondo foul on Brad Miller, send it to me if you can. My buddy Jim just emailed me saying he saw Perkins hand hit the rim on his attempt to block Miller's shot when Rondo rocked him. If so, isn't that goaltending?

P.P.S. If anyone is selling tickets to game 6 for cheap, holler at your boy. Definitely would love to go. Alright, im exhausted. Take care playaz, and GO BULLS!!!

BULLS WIN!!! BULLS VS CELTICS GAME 4 RECAP

Yayayayayayayayayayay!!! OMG WHAT A GAME! I am struggling right now because I had a long weekend which included watching the Draft all day at Stretch Run on Saturday, and then going out all night and then heading to the Bulls game this morning at 10am. I honestly can't move right now! I am totally burnt out from that and the game, but man, what a classic though! I'm so glad I got to go to the game though. Thanks a ton Pravs!

It's crazy, Game 3 was the worst Bulls game I had ever been to in my life, and now Game 4 is one of the best ever! It's right up there with some of the games I got to check out at the Old Chicago Stadium. Man what a game though! I'm calling it right now, I bet they replay that game on ESPN Classic! There were 28 lead changes, 12 ties, and 2 overtimes! The game went back and forth from tip off, and never let up. In the end though, every single Bulls player played their hearts out and we came out with the W! It was unreal. Every Bulls player finished with double digit pts(except for Hunter who came in just for a few seconds)...

BGeezy was unreal, especially in the second half. He hit not 1, but 2 unreal shots. Dude's always been clutch, even when he was a rookie! What's nuts is that he played the entire second half and overtime with a messed up hamstring! He heard it pop, but he took a shot for the pain, and kept on playing. And boy did he put on the show. When he hit that 3, the crowd noise was so loud that I swear I felt like I was back at the old Chicago Stadium. The entire place was literally deafening, and the ground was really shaking. It was amazing! BGeezy finished with 22 pts. In case you missed the shot heard around the world, check it out. I love the Bulls minions like Roberson and Gray on the bench. They always do whatever BGeezy does. Check out Roberson grabbing his junk Bgeezy style after the shot haha...

Everyone else played great too. DRose took over in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter. It was nice to see him ask for clear outs and get it going when the team needed him. He finished 1 assist short of a triple double. Rose finished with 23 pts, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. That would've been sick if he got that. He did disappear a little bit in the ot's, but luckily BG, Salmons, and Noah stepped up then. He needs to learn to assert himself a little bit more, but that will only come with time.

There are a ton of Noah haters out there, but this kid played great. His hustle and heart showed this game, and he came up with some huge blocks, boards, and dunks in this one. Noah finished with 12pts,10 boards, and 3blocks.

Salmons was quiet for the entire first half, but then really came through with some big shots towards the end of the game, especially in the overtimes. He also hit 4 straight clutch free throws, that was the difference. Salmons finished with a quiet but affective 20 pts.

TT played well too. He did have some crazy fadeaways and jumpers which always scare the hell out of me, but overall he played hard, and came through with some nice buckets, boards, and swats. TT finished with 14pts, 10 boards, 3 swats, and 2 steals.

Brad Miller was his usual self. He had some nice passes, played tough, and scored well down low. He also got pissed and got into an altercation with Big Baby after Big Baby hit him with a hard foul. It was nice to see Miller step up for him and his teammates after the Celtics repeatedly fouled the Bulls hard throughout the game. This definitely got the team and the crowd fired up! You can't get into fights, but you have to be smart, and step up for your teammates at an important juncture in the game, and Miller did both. Miller finished with 12 pts and 5 boards.

I left Hinrich for the end because I've been pretty hard on him these last two seasons. I just wanted to take a second and give him some props for his performance in this game. Not only did he hit some big shots, take the ball to the cup well, but he played some great defense in this game. Once they put him on PP, he put the clamps down on him. He also guarded Rondo 1 on 1 for the last shot, and played some great D by staying in front of him. Everyone else got the props for this game like BGeezy and DRose, but we definitely couldn't have won this game without Hinrich either.

Everyone played great, and it was great to see these Bulls play with such heart and effort in this game. Especially after the way they came out in game 3. This series is already turning out to be one for the ages, and I definitely see it going 7 games. I just hope our Bullies can come out of this one on top, because I think they deserve this for the way they are playing right now!!!

In case you missed the game, here are the highlights...

Some other random thoughts on the game. Man wayyy too many turnovers and missed free throws. Everytime the Bulls could run away with the game, they either missed a free throw, or committed a turnover. They really need to work on this if they want to win this series. Another thing I did like was them trapping Rondo on the inbounds passes. It was smart and it confused the Celts towards the end of the game.

Also, as a Basketball fan, you got to love this Point Guard battle. Rondo vs DRose has been a battle for the ages. Did you see their box scores in Game 4? Rondo is averaging a freaking tripe double in the series for God's sake. He has been the best player in this series for sure. What is great to me is that both are so young too. I know the West has CP3 vs DWill, but the East now has DRose vs Rondo for the next 10 years!!! That is going to be awesome to watch as a NBA fan and a Bulls fan. Ok I'm outtie, but real quick some Bears thoughts. I thought the Bears had a great draft in my opinion, so I will post more thoughts on them and post some player videos soon. Just wanted to get that in there.

Go Bulls!!! BGEEZY FOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! DROSE FOOO!!!! YA YAYAYAY!!!

2009 NFL DRAFT

I'm headed out to go watch the Draft, but here is my quick 1st round Mock Draft. I'm sure I'll probably be way off, but just wanted to do one for fun. These choices are from everything I've heard on tv or read on the Web...

1. DET - Stafford
2. STL - Jason Smith
3. KC - Tyson Jackson
4. SEA - Crabtree
5. CLE - Curry
6. CIN - Andre Smith
7. OAK - Maclin
8. JAC - will trade to skins - Sanchez
9. GB - Raji
10. SF - Monroe
11.BUF - Oher
12. DEN - Maybin
13. WAS - Orakpo
14. NO - Jenkins
15. HOU - P Jerry
16. SD - Moreno
17. NYJ - Josh Freeman
18. DEN - Barwin
19. TB - Vontae Davis
20. DET - Ray M
21. PHI - McCoy
22. MIN - P Loadholt
23. NE - Harvin
24. ATL - Alphonso Smith
25. MIA - Clay Matthews
26. BAL - Eben Britton
27. IND - Evander Hood
28. BUF - Pettigrew
29. NYG - Nicks
30. TEN - Heyward Bay
31. ARI - Donald Brown
32. PIT - Max Unger

Also, the Bears only have 1 pick today, but I'm thinking Angelo might actually trade down to acquire more draft picks. That is of course unless a first round talent slips to us in the 2nd round. I actually just want him to take the best available player, because we do have some other holes to plug. Of course we need help at the WR position, but we also need help at the Dline, Safety, Lb, and even Oline positions.

Side note, if the Bears somehow get Boldin, I am popping bottles tonight. Don't know where, but it'll be on! I doubt it will happen, but I'm just putting that out there.

Everyone be safe today and have fun. Let's go BEARS!!!

BULLS VS CELTICS GAME 3

I honestly am still depressed from Game 3, so it took me a whole day to post this. Plain and simple, Game 3 was the worst Bulls game I have ever been to in my life. The sad thing is, I have went to the UC and have seen some terrible Bulls squads after the Jordan years. I've even been to games with cats like Kornel David, Fizer, and JC trying to ball on cats, but never lose this bad. Game 3 was an embarrassment. That final score doesn't even do the waxing that the Celts put on us justice. The lead was 30 for most of the second half, it was ridiculous.

Now I don't mind if we lose, but to have the Celts come into our house and beat us like that was just heart breaking. They outhustled, outrebounded, out everythinged us all game long. I mean Big Baby beat the entire Bulls team down the court twice! I had a nightmare about that last night!!! To top that off, the Bulls had a crap load of turnovers, missed 10 free throws, and shot just 37 percent from the floor. And oh ya, they didn't play an ounce of defense!!! WTF!?!? Was this the same squad that played with so much composure and swagger in Boston?

The worst part was that the Bulls didn't even look like they wanted to beat there the entire game. It was like they were just running through the motions. I have no clue why either. The UC was packed with everyone wearing RED and it was rocking! Especially when DRose got his ROY award. But right from the tip, the Celts dominated us.

Also, side note, I tried telling anyone that wanted to listen that Game 3 scared me because of the fact that BGeezy snapped for 42 and we lost. The thing that scared me was that whenever BGeezy has a game like that, he usually comes out and struggles the next game. I've seen it for years. It's just something that alwyas happens. So for him to do what he did in Game 2, and for us not to get the win, was definitely bad news. Low and behold, BGeezy struggled big time in this game. I love BGeezy, he is my guy, but that's old news to us Bulls fans. And then you wonder who is going to give him more than 60 million next year?!?! That is why he should've taken that deal!!!

Anyways, you all know how hard I jock DRose, but I definitely have to point a finger at him in this loss as well. He had the worst game of his rookie season, and I have watched every single game he has played this year. He turned the ball over left and right and didn't even look comfortable out there. It was like night and day from game 1. He also couldn't make his layups, or get anything going on the offensive end of the floor for himself or his teammates. He also got TORCHED by Rando all night long. Rando was definitely the best player on the court last night, and that's no disrespect to PP or Ray Ray. Noah and TT also looked lost all game long, and the worst part was, they just looked weak. Fat Perkins and Big Cry Baby dominated them throughout the entire game. TT and Noah, who played so great in the first couple of games, just looked over matched down low, and it was sad to see. They were getting pushed out of the lane easily, killed in the post on D, and rip sticked every other possession. It was just bad.

Anyways, all we can really do is hope the Bullies are embarrassed from this loss, and bounce back hard in game 4! I'm just really hoping all of this was a wake up call for the Squad and the Coaching Staff. I really think that we have the ability to beat these Celts, but they just need to go out there and play with some heart. Also, great players never have two bad games in a row. I'm looking for a HUGEEEE game from DROSE on Sunday. He is going to lead us to the promise land, I just know it. Well, I'll definitely be going to the game on Sunday (thanks to my homie Pravs for hooking me up), so let's make it rain on these CELTS!!! LET'S GO BULLS!!!

DERRICK ROSE WINS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Congrats to Chi town's own, DROSE for winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award! Honestly though, was there even a doubt he would win? Even the haters now have to give this kid props for the way he plays the game on the court. Anyone see his playoff debut? What makes this kid even more likable, is that Rose is also humble on and off the court, and that he is always respectful of his teammates and coaches. What a player! Congrats DROSE!!!

Also Bulls fans, did you know Rose is only the third Chicago Bull to ever win the Rookie of the Year award? The other two winners were MJ and Elton Brand. He is in pretty good company, right?

Rose won the award in a landslide, getting 111 of a possible 120 first place votes. No one was even close. Mayo came in second overall. Rose scored 16.8 pts a game (second to Mayo), and led all rookies with 6.3 assists a game. He also topped all rookies in fg percentage, shooting 47.5 percent, and he avg'd 37 minutes a game. Who said anything about knee problems? (pre season news)

What's remarkable is that DRose started and ended the season at the PG position, going full throttle and never letting up. He played the most difficult position for a rookie to play on the court, and he never hit a rookie wall. Instead of hitting that wall every rookie hits, Rose burst through it leading them to play hard in every single game this year, and helping them make it to the playoffs. This is the same squad we watched last year that struggled to even compete under Skiles and Boylan. Now this Bulls team has a shot at knocking off the defending champion Celtics in the first round. And it is all because of him and how he makes his teammates better around him. Sorry for the jocking, but it's true. Ask any fan who has watched every game this year.

I also find it funny that since people can't find anything bad to say about his game, they attack hs personality. They say he's bland or that he doesn't have a strong personality and so on, but they fail to realize that all this kid does is win. Or the fact that he is only 20 years old! Remember us at 20? Bad news... Oh ya, and about that winner thing, Rose already has two pieces of hardware from the NBA this year, in his rookie season, the Skills Competition Champ, and the ROY. Not bad for his blandself. You can have your personality, I'll just admire his game, his leadership, and take the hardware that he racks up every year instead.

Oh and for the rest of you haters(yes there are a ton), Rose has already gotten props from all of the best players in the League from Kobe Bryant to the best pg's in the game, CP3 and DWill. They all have nothing but great things to say about the kid. And if that isn't enough for you, Rose also is the only rookie that finished in the top 5 of the ROY voting that made the playoffs this year. With such a great rookie class you would've expected there be to more, at least I did.

Anyways, getting back to the Bulls, DRose is actually the main reason the Bulls are even in the playoffs this year. Even before the trade Pax pulled for Salmons and Miller, when the Bulls were struggling, Rose kept our team together and on the right track. It could have easily spun out of control like last year did, but he wouldn't let it. Why? Because he is a winner and because he is that special star that comes along once in a rare while. Who knows where this Bulls squad that is going to beat the CELTS(i hope) would be without him.

Whatever it is, I'm just glad we lucked out in the Draft and got this kid. I thank my lucky stars about that every night and still remember when I found out we won the lottery(I was at XSport), and when we drafted him (I was at Cactus). All I know is that I look forward to many more years of him balling on cats, racking up a ton of future All Star appearances and other hardware, and hopefully even a few chips to top it off at the end. And when that happens, we will be popping bottles for sure!!! (hopefully even with him some day!)

Anyways, check out his interviews below.

Here is Rose's acceptance speech at the Bulls press conference...

And here are some more of Rose's thoughts on winning the award...

BULLS LOSE TO THE CELTICS

Wow, I'm depressed. The Bulls lost to the Celts on an Allen game winner tonight. Heart breaker. We had that game. BGeezy dropped 42 freaking points and we lost! Man, I was already sick, but everytime I see that shot, I get sick to my stomach. The one thing that sticks out to me are second chance points. I don't even know how many the Celtics had, but I bet you they had a ton, including another one in which they got the game winner! The Bulls will need to dominate the boards if they want to win this series. With Powe and Kg out, they need to take control of the boards at home. Other than that, I don't even have it in me to write about the game right now. I'll check in later though. Let's go Bulls in game 3! We will defend our house!

A STAR IS BORN (AGAIN)

Man, I still can't get over yesterday's Bulls game. DRose put on a show, and the Bulls beat the defending champs on their home court to take a 1-0 lead in the series. It was so perfect. I'm literally still going crazy.

Now I know I have been jocking DRose for a long time now, but f it, he deserves it. Did you all see what he did to the Celtics yesterday?!?! The NBA playoffs are where Legends and Stars are born, and that is exactly what happened yesterday in that Bulls Celts game. I wrote again in the title, because I've been following this kid since High School, and in my eyes, he has been a star for years. And also because of this post I wrote a long time ago. But, there are still a lot of people out there who don't know who DRose is, or just how good he is. Not anymore! DRose went 12-19 from the field, for 36 pts, dropped 11 dimes, had 4 boards, and a steal in his first ever playoff game!!! And by putting up 36 pts in his rookie debut, DRose tied Kareem for the most pts ever by a rookie in his playoff debut, passing up Wilt(35) and Tim Duncan(32)! How sick is that? Rose also had 11 assists in his debut, becoming just the second guy in league history to have 35 and 10. The first being CP3.

Anyways, I'm just really glad DRose was able to rise to the occasion during the playoffs, so that everyone can finally get to see just how good this kid really is. Hearing about Rose and seeing him in highlights is one thing, but to see him go onto the defending champions home court, to put on a performance like that, and to rip the Celts heart out with a W, is another thing. Like I said earlier, the playoffs are where Legends are born, and if DRose leads the Bulls to this first round victory, he will be well on his way to Super Stardom.

Also if you missed yesterday's game for some reason, no worries, I got you. Check out DRose's highlights below, they are sick...

Overall in regards to the Bulls themselves, everyone played great yesterday, and it was great to see. BGeezy and Salmons were doing their thing. It was also awesome to see the two young bigs come through huge for their squad. TT and Noah both had great games too! Hopefully we can get another win tomorrow, but even if we don't we are still in the drivers seat right now. I also want to give a quick shout out to my boy Motz for coming through with playoffs tickets for me. Because of him, I'll be heading to to game 3 on Thursday. I can't wait. LET'S GO BULLS!!!

P.S. what a day for Chicago Sports on Saturday huh? The Bulls, Hawks, Cubs, and Sox(who still smell) all won! And everyone is already going nuts about the Bears because of the Cutler trade right? Definitely a good time to be a Chicago Sports fan right now. We have a lot of good young talent, and some contending teams. It definitely feels good.

CHICAGO, SUPPORT YOUR FOURTH TEAM

Now I have to admit, I'm definitely not a die hard Blackhawks fan. I haven't even been to a game in my life. The only Hawks games I had ever seen before this year were the ones from back in the days when we had Jeremy Roenick and Chris Chelios. So this year, I'm more of a bandwagoner if anything. But me and my dad have watched a couple of Hawks games this year, like the Winter Classic, and I got to admit, it was pretty exciting to watch this young team do well. Because of that, I am definitely supporting the squad this year, and hope they can win it all! The young squad is already off to a hot start, taking a 2-0 lead in the series, so let's see what happens. And by popular demand from a bunch of our readers here at DSS, here is our first Blackhawks post. My buddy Vish, who is a fan, had this to say about the Hawks, so check it out...

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp, Martin Havlat, Patrick Kane and Kris Versteeg. 5 great reasons to watch the Blackhawks as they begin the NHL Playoffs. Yep, that's right your Chicago Blackhawks are in the playoffs for the first time in 7 years!

So why should you care?
1) In 2004, ESPN dubbed the Blackhawks as the worst franchise in professional sports.
2) Today the Blackhawks are young, exciting, and are only going to get better.
3) They have not won the Stanley Cup since 1961, which puts them at the longest current drought in the NHL... 48 years.
4) Tradition & History. They might come fourth after Bears, Bulls, Cubs/Sox. But they have a rich history with Chicago too, since 1926. And have won 3 Stanley Cups.
5) They played a regular season game at Wrigley Field this past winter.

As Scoop Jackson puts it, "...Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are the next Crosby and Malkin, and ESPN wants to get an early jump on covering them."

GO HAWKS!!!

TALKING BULLS VS CELTICS

The playoffs are finally here! The Bullies get the defending Champions in the first round, the Boston Celtics! I don't know why, but this matchup reminds me a lot of 2 years ago, and when we had to play vs the Heat. I remember everyone saying no one wants to face the Heat, us loosing our last game of the regular season, and then us falling into that matchup with them. Everyone, just like this year, said the Bulls had no chance, that they had DWade, Shaq and co., that they were the defending champs, and they picked the Heat in 5, 6 at most. Well we all know what happened when the games were played right?

Call me crazy, but I definitely think the Bulls got a shot in this series. Now I know we are a terrible road team. I know that the Bulls are terrible vs the Pick and Roll, which Rondo and the Celts are going to do all game long. Yes I know these are the defending champs and they are an experienced squad. And yes I know the Celts will probably be smart enough to trap DRose once he passes half court and to get the ball out of his hand. With all that being said, I still think we can make it rain on the Celtics.

As we all know, KG is out for this series and probably the playoffs. KG is their heart and soul. He makes them go. He is also the anchor of that stifling D that shut down Kobe and the Lakers last year. That is a huge loss not only on the court, but mentally for the Celts. We have all played ball before. You know a leader when you see one. This guy is their leader, and without him on the court, I really do see them struggling during pressure situations. I also think that the Celts won't be as hungry as they were last year. They won their chip, so are they going to still play as hard as they did last year? Last year you could see the hunger in their eyes. They are also a little bit older, and a step slower this year, from whenever I have seen them play. PP and Ray Ray have a lot of tread on those tires, that is for sure.

Speaking of slow, we know slow and DRose don't go together. The best shot the Bulls have to beat the Celts is to outscore them and to play run and gun basketball. If you remember the last time both teams played without KG, that is exactly what we did. We need to run them out of the building. If the game gets into a half court battle, they definitely have the advantage. I think DRose is going to put on a show in this playoff series, and that people who have not had a chance to see the kid play are going to be surprised at just how good he is. BGeezy and Salmons are going to have to pick up their end of the scoring load too. Pretty much everyone on the squad is going to have to play really well, so let's see if they can step up to the challenge. It will be a great learning experience for this young squad either way. Anyways, I really do think the Bulls are going to win this series, but that is probably the homer in me. Let's see how it pans out. LET'S GO BULLS!!!

Yes we have two hard games right off of the bat, but if we can win those, things should be smooth sailing from there. I also like the fact that we play the Steelers and Cardinals at home, and the Niners as our Thursday game. Let's see how it pans out.

LEBRON JAMES SWATS CHRIS DUHON'S SHOT TO HALF COURT

I know this is wayyy OLD NEWS, but I just saw this clip for the first time this week. The story behind this clip is basically the following. My buddies and I were talking about former Bull PG Chris Duhon, and how we don't miss him being a Bull at all, and about how bad he just sucks in general. But 2 of our friends got mad about our comments. We do have a few friends, two in particular, that love DU and twang on him hard. After some time of going back and forth (feels like 2 years) one of the Du lovers himself admitted Duhon struggles now, and sent this SWAT TEAM by Lebron to the thread. That email was awesome, because ever since he sent this clip, our other friend has stopped talking about the DU. With no response from him this week, I think DU mania is finally over in Chicago. His two fans have officially given up. Sorry Chris, it was tight while it lasted...

My thoughts about this clip...

1 - LEBRON IS A BEAST
2 - I can't believe someone got swatted to half court. Don't do the DU!
3 - LEBRON IS A BEAST
4 - DU is broke

Thanks Neil for sending in this video, and finally getting off the Duhon bandwagon. Better late then never.

For real though, Chris Duhon is a cool ass guy. I've met him a few times out in the city, and he is a really nice guy to all the fans. He also used to spend time helping the community, and he was great for the kids at home games. He would literally sign for every single little kid at the Stadium before games. Anyways, just thought I would put that out there. Even though I didn't like him as a baller, it doesn't mean I can't give him props.

THE JORDAN YEARS

Here is my tribute to the G.O.A.T. himself, MJ. In honor of MJ getting elected into the Hall of Fame this week, I've compiled 100 of my favorite pictures of MJ throughout the years and titled my album The Jordan Years.

Now this might sound crazy, but MJ changed my life. It is honestly because of basketball and Jordan/Pippen/and Da Bulls that I am who I am today. Without him, I probably would not have grown up loving Basketball, or Sports in General. I wouldn't have played basketball in HS, at the park, in leagues, at College, or in IPB. And those places are where I pretty much met all of my best friends in life right now. Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't even have started this blog without Jordan. I wonder if anyone else feels this way too?

Anyways, some of my personal favorites in this album are Jordan's shot over Ehlo, his first title picture, Jordan in Pip's arms during the flu game, Mj's final shot on the Jazz, and their last title picture. If you get a chance, please stop by and let me know what your favorite memory/ picture of Jordan is too.

You can also click on the album to go through the pictures on your own too. Thanks for stopping by and GO BULLS!

RON ARTEST FREESTYLE

True story... I met Ron Artest the summer he got drafted by the Bulls. It was after a GZA concert at the Metro. We were all by the tour bus after the concert trying to get autographs, when Artest, and one of the background singers Drodee came out to the bus to chill. At that time not too many people even knew who Artest was, which was even better because it made it easier for me to twang. I was actually a fan of his since his college days. That St. John's squad was sick, him and Lavor Postell were fun to watch. Anyways, next thing you know, me and my buddies are chilling and drinking with Artest. It was a tight night. I actually ended up seeing Artest again the next week at Dragon Room too. Anyways, there is no point to this story other than to try to look cool. No, but for real, ever since I met him, I've always been a huge fan of his. I know people say he is crazy or weird, but in person this guy is one of the nicest guys out there. Definitely a fan.

Anyways I found this freestyle by him on Ball Don't Lie, so I just wanted to post it. Enjoy...

CUBS WIN SEASON OPENER

The Cubs won their season opener today, 4-2 vs the Astros. The game was a nice battle of both teams aces. Big Z vs Oswalt. In the end, the Cubbies and Big Z came out on top, just the way we were hoping it would go down. It was definitely dope to see Soriano and ARAM go yard, and to see Big Z come out fired up and get his first W of the season! Fontenot played great too. I'm really excited to see him finally get a bunch of ab's this year. And the pen did it's job, by holding down the fort when they came in. Marmol also did his thing in the 8th. Dude is lights out. The game did get a little scary at the end when Gregg came in, but he was able to settle down and convert his first save of the season. Let's all hope the Cubbies can keep the wins coming this year. I'm excited to see this team grow together and gel by the end of the year. GO CUBS GO!!!

CUBS EXCITED FOR OPENER

The Cubbies season starts tomorrow vs the Astros, so everyone is excited. I won't lie though, I'm still getting over them getting swept last season. I really thought last season's squad was the best I had ever seen, and it was our time, so when they lost, it was devastating. But tomorrow a new season begins, so hopefully this year's squad can make us forget about all of the heartbreak from last year.

Our roster this year is looking pretty sweet though. I'm pretty anxious to see how Milton B plays this year too. Hopefully him and the rest of the Cubbies can stay healthy enough to make a run. Eventually I'd love to see us get Peavy and some other big players towards the end of the season when other teams are having their fire sales. But even without Peavy, I do think this team has enough weapons to win it all, so let's see how the season progresses. All we can say is GO CUBS GO!!!

Anyways, check out the Cubbies themselves talking about the start of the season...
