NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND PART 2
In this video, watch Alicia S hang out at the T-Mobile Party, visit the Dwyane Wade All-Star Luncheon for charity, and interviews DWade, Alonzo Mourning and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks there. She also catches up with Jason Terry from the Mavericks at the Phoenician and chats with Common on the red carpet. It's pretty cool.
Here is the link...
Also, every visit to Mission G is a dollar to charity, up to $25K, so visit away.

ALL STAR WEEKEND PART 1
Here is a behind the scenes look at some of the parties during NBA All Star weekend. Man, these parties look amazing! We'll get some more posted up too. Hopefully one day DSS can head out there and bring you live coverage! Til then, we will have to live through these youtube videos, haha...
Also make sure you check out MissionG because Gatorade will be donating a dollar to charity for every hit on the site throughout the weekend. You can check out some of our favorite athletes, while giving back to charity at the same time.
Also my quick thoughts on tonight's 3pt contest and dunk contest. I think I will be laying some money on Kapono and Mason Jr in the 3pt contest, and hitting up J.R. Smith in the dunk contest as my darkhorse. Talk to you all soon. peace.

NBA POWER RANKINGS - by RP
DSS Readers,
I’m running out of excuses for the infrequency of my rankings. Laziness, the club and lack of pay from DSS all contribute equally.
This week, we’ll be recognizing some of the unsung heroes.
Either way, here are the rankings that will take us into the stretch run…
-RP
1. Los Angeles Lakers (41-9) – Trevor Ariza – Long and athletic. Really helped bolster the best second unit in the league.
2. San Antonio Spurs (34-15) – Roger Mason – R&B Roger continues to take and make clutch shots. He’s 4-4 this year taking shots with the game on the line.
3. Boston Celtics (42-11) – Rajon Rondo – Big Three gets all the pub, but without Rondo, they aren’t even dreaming of the finals this year.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers (39-10) – Wally Szczerbiak – Stepped up when the injury bug hit the Cavs. Hitting threes, grabbing boards, you name it. Now if he can magically turn into Vince Carter, he’ll really get some MVP votes…
5. Orlando Magic (38-12) – Jameer Nelson – Huge Loss. Sorry dude.
6. Denver Nuggets (34-17) – Chris Andersen – Just watch Bird fly around the court and you’ll notice his impact. Oh yeah, he plays 19 minutes a game and is fourth in the league in blocks.
7. Portland Trailblazers (31-19) – Joel Pryzbilla – Helped stabilize the pivot when Oden was still getting acclimated.
8. New Orleans Hornets (30-19) – James Posey – The New Rob Horry gives them some depth and big balls.
9. Houston Rockets (31-21) – Aaron Brooks & Von Wafer – On a deep team filled with great role players, these guys have really stepped their game up.
10. Phoenix Suns (28-22) – Shaquille O’Neal – I know the Diesel isn’t your everyday “Unsung Hero,” but did anyone expect him to turn back the clock?
11. Atlanta Hawks (29-21) – Marvin Williams – Former #1 pick has filled the void left by Josh Childress.
12. Dallas Mavericks (30-20) – Brandon Bass – One of the better 6th men around.
13. Utah Jazz (29-23) – C.J. Miles - With all the injuries, he’s filled in admirably as a starter.
14. Miami Heat (27-23) – Mario Chalmers – Who knew one-half of Cheech & Chong would be such a stud?
15. Philadelphia 76ers (26-24) – Marreese Speights – Putting up some nice numbers and giving them some depth.
16. Detroit Pistons (27-22) – Amir Johnson – Jokes…
17. Milwaukee Bucks (25-29) – Ramon Sessions – Who needs Mo Williams? Jokes again, but really, he’s good.
18. New Jersey Nets (24-28) – Brook Lopez – Rook has been a stud.
19. Indiana Pacers (20-32) – Troy Murphy – Double-Double machine.
20. Chicago Bulls (22-29) – Tyrus Thomas – Sorry.
21. New York Knicks (21-29) – Wilson Chandler – Dude’s a baller. Also, how do they have 7 double figure guys? That’s impressive, even for Dantoni.
22. Minnesota Timberwolves (17-33) – Randy Foye – Too bad he’ll be missing his big man the rest of the way.
23. Golden State Warriors (17-35) – Kelenna Azubuike – Do it all type of guard. Shout out to Anthony Morrow, owner of the sweetest stroke in the league.
24. Toronto Raptors (19-34) – Joey Graham – One of the few bright spots on a disappointing team.
25. Charlotte Bobcats (20-31) – D.J. Augustin – Played a lot better than some people thought he would.
26. Oklahoma City Thunder (13-38) – Russell Westbrook – Another impressive rookie PG.
27. Memphis Grizzlies (15-36) – Hakim Warrick – Giving solid numbers off the bench.
28. Sacramento Kings (11-41) – Jason Thompson – Rookie can play.
29. Washington Wizards (11-40) – Andray Blatche – Playing well for a garbage team.
30. Los Angeles Clippers (12-40) – Al Thornton – Everyone knew he’d be a baller, and he is.

ROY – O.J. Mayo
6th Man – Manu Ginobili
MIP – Kevin Durant
COY – Greg Popovich

GATORADE IS NOW CALLED "G"

In case you guys missed it, which I doubt you have if you are a Sports fan since their commercials are everywhere, Gatorade is now called "G". Now all of us who play sports in any capacity love Gatorade. We always have. All of our favorite players are also signed with Gatorade too, which is probably another reason we love it too.
Well now "G" has put out a new amazing marketing campaign, and it features some of the World's most famous athletes. Anyways, thanks to our good friends at "G", us here at DSS got a special "G" kit to try out their new products, and check out their new marketing campaign first hand.
The Kit itself included 2 Super Bowl commemorative bottles, one for each team. The kit also includes a "G" jump drive, am amazing "G" book with all of their athletes, and 7 bottles of their newest flavors.
Here is a little information about everything that was included in the kit, and about their new products...
• In honor of Super Bowl XLIII, Gatorade has produced commemorative bottles for each team. The winning team will have the word “Champs” added and those bottles will appear on the field and in the locker room on February 1st in Tampa.
• This year’s bottles are designed with Gatorade’s new “G” logo, along with the iconic bolt.
• G represents the heart, hustle, and soul of athleticism – and is a badge of pride for all athletes
• In 2008, Gatorade honored Super Bowl XLII champion New York Giants with a commemorative bottle label.
So now we all know, Gatorade is now “G”. Check out the picture below to see the new bottles...-Gatorade Fierce is now “Bring It”
-Gatorade X-Factor is now “Be Tough”
-Gatorade AM is now “Shine On”
-Gatorade Rain is now “No Excuses”

My favorite parts of the kit are definitely the G book and the videos on the jump drive. They are amazing! Here are some pictures of the items included in the kit as well. Thanks again to "G" for everything, and letting DSS be apart of the new "G" experience.

Check out www.MissionG.com, which is a new online sports and entertainment network that is designed to engage consumers in what G is all about. Right now, there are five new shows on MissionG.com as well as a new series that puts Gatorade athletes in the quest for G. It's something completely different from what you've come to expect from Gatorade.Lastly, check out this link to see what G means to some of our World's greatest athletes. It's pretty tight.

STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS - SUPER BOWL EDITION

Another crazy football season is coming to an end, which sucks, because there is nothing better to do, than watching football every Sunday with your buddies. This NFL season for me overall wasn't an enjoyable one though. The Bears struggled, AGAIN! And betting wise, it didn't work out as planned as well. I was up a ton of units earlier this year, but unfortunately, I gave it all back in the final weeks of the league, pretty much breaking even for the year.
Anyways, I hope today's game is at least a good one! Hopefully we can make today a winning day for everyone, so here goes! Gluck everyone!
(Overall Record - 14-10-1)
Cardinals + 7
Vik aka Docksquad's Pick:
(Overall Record - 46-38-5)
Steelers -6.5 (bought hook)
There is a saying that says Defense wins Championships. I know that is played out now, but I am a firm believer in just that. Even this year when you looked at the final four teams that were left in the playoffs, 3 out of the 4 had top 10 defenses. It is the same thing year in and year out, so nothing has changed with that this year. I think the Steelers will win this game, and cover, because of just that. This Steelers team statistically on the defensive side of the ball is great. We all know if this turns into a shootout, then the Cards will win. But if it turns into a grind it out, physical football game, then the Steelers win this game by 10plus. I look for them to impose their will on the Cards today in the big game. I see them pressuring and battering Warner a lot today, not allowing him to get through his progressions, or make the big plays that the Cards usually make to win games. I see Warner having a couple of turnovers today, and I think that will be the difference in this one too. Big Ben will do just enough on offense, and FWP is looking like he is back fully healed and ready to go for this game. Look for a big game from him. Hines Ward should be ready to go too, which is huge for the Steelers. I also think Mike Tomlin is a pretty underrated coach, and he deserves some props. I think he will have the Steelers ready for this one. In the end, I honestly hope I am wrong about this pick. I never say that, but I truly do want the Cards to win. What is there not to like about this squad? I love Boldin and Fitz as players, and Warner is an amazing QB. I don't care what anyone says, win or lose this game, Warner is a HOF QB, hands down. While I hope they can persevere and win this game and this Cinderella story continues, I just think the clock will strike midnight today for this Cards team. Let's see how it pans out, I'm just hoping for a good game. Gluck everyone!
