STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS - PLAYOFF EDITION

Suman aka Richboy's Pix:
(Last week 1-3)
(Overall 12-10-1)

Ravens at Steelers (Steelers -5)

Let me preface this by saying that there is a real good chance the Super Bowl is going to be the Ravens v. Cardinals. Think about it. There are good potential storylines everywhere. If its Cardinals v. Steelers you got Whisenhunt going against his former team and the Cardinals flashy offense against the Steel Curtain. If its Eagles v. Steelers you got the Keystone State Bowl. If its Eagles v. Ravens you got McNabb going against the team that he originally got benched against earlier in the year, and we'll hear about 4 million stories and read 6 million columns about how McNabb has come full circle. That leaves us with Ravens v. Cardinals. No real major story lines that I can think of. And in this crazy NFL season where nothing is going according to script it leaves us a perfect Super Bowl that doesn't make sense. Nobody, not one person in the entire world, had a Ravens v. Cardinals Super Bowl this year. Or ever.

But I just can't do it.

I can't pick against these Steelers. I can't pick against a QB that had a "spinal concussion" and acted like nothing really happened. I can't pick against a team that constantly tortures me as a Browns fan. I'm sick of it. They can't be stopped. Maybe its the constant growth hormone that has been pumped into Steelers players for decades, but they are just a different breed. This year the bounces have gone the Steelers way, but they've also done their part in creating their own good fortune. Their defense is just disgusting. And Big Ben is playing like a guy thats been their before. He's a modern day John Wayne. He's probably the toughest guy in the league. This guy had a concussion 3 weeks ago! Remember when Aikman, Young, Montana, EVERYONE else who had a concussion??? They looked like idiots when they came back on the field. He looked better!

Add to this that this Ravens team never should have left Tennessee with a W. Now sometimes all it takes is a lucky break for a team to capitalize on and go all the way, but I think the Ravens luck stops here. Joe Flacco hasn't made that big mistake in the playoffs yet which I find amazing. But its a credit to his poise, and the play calling. But to beat the Steelers I don't think the Ravens can just keep it conservative. I think Flacco has to make plays, and I don't believe he can against this D. Its true that these 2 teams have played 2 close games, but I don't buy the theory that "its hard to beat a team 3 times in a year." I believe in the theory that "once might be luck, but twice is a trend." The Steelers continuously beat the Browns because they are better. And they will beat the Ravens for the third time this year because they are better.

Iggles at Cardinals (Cardinals +4 bought hook)

I hope this happens just so I can read at least 3 more columns from Norman Chad about this magical run. Let me quote NC again for the first time..."nobody comes into University of Phoenix Stadium and walks out a winner." That dome with that noise and that defense being that amped is going to be THAT special. I just feel it. Somehow McNabb will get chewed out in the media again after this game because I just have a feeling that the Cardinals D will be the difference in this one. Even though he doesn't deserve it. I'm not a one track mind person that thinks any less of McNabb or Ewing or Barkley or (fill in the blank) because they didn't win it all. I think McNabb is great. But on this day, I have to go with Kurt Warner. He's just special in big games. And if Larry Fitzgerald somehow makes a leaping-in-traffic-Barnum-and-Bailey catch in this one I will lose my mind. But the one thing that I don't see getting played up in the media this week is that Arizona D. They have been great so far in the playoffs, and at home I see it happening one more time. Gimme the points, and the Cards in a blowout.

Ravens at Steelers (Steelers -5)

Everytime I pick against these damn Steelers, they always wax. On top of taking the L, we have to hear it from our friend Cohin talk shi, which is the worst. So for this week, f it, I am going to ride the Steelers into the Super Bowl. The Steelers proved to me last weekend that their offense is capable of putting up pts, and that is all they needed to become a legit threat to win the Super Bowl this year. Their offensive line that has taken a beating all year long, stepped up to the plate, and opened up holes for FWP, and protected Big Ben vs a pretty decent defense. As long as they play somewhat decent, and keep Big Ben alive vs this crazy Ravens defense, they should win this game. FWP showed a nice burst last weekend, so maybe he is back to great form that made him a big time player before this year. Their D is plain nasty, and they will definitely get to Flacco today. It will be interesting to see if Flacco can combat this zone blitzing defense along with the pressure that comes along with such a big game. I will take the Pitt D in that matchup as I see them rattling Flacco early. Tomlin has also proved to me he is a solid coach, as he has been consistent all year long. Now don't get me wrong, I love the Ravens! I hope they win the Superbowl. I just think that playing 3 weeks on the road, and after playing such a physical Titans team, is going to catch up to them this week. The Titans physical style definitely beat up the Ravens last weekend. It seems like half of the Ravens didn't even practice this week. I think that will come into play big time this weekend, and even though I see a low scoring, physical game in this one, I think the Steelers pull away in the second half after leaning hard on the Ravens all game long.

Eagles at Cardinals (Eagles -3 bought hook)

The Iggles have been a team on a mission, and I just think in the end they will close out this fairytale story for these Cards. I love the Cards. I love Warner, Boldin, Fitz, and co., but I just don't see them winning in this game. Defense wins championships in football. As you can see, three out of four squads left, have a top 10 defense. The Cards D has played dope the past couple of weeks, but I just don't see them keeping that up in this game. The Iggles have a top 10 offense and defense, and that is why I give them the edge in this game. I know Westbrook is banged up, but I see him busting a big play in this game like he did vs the Vikings. I also see Philly's crazy blitzing defense getting to Warner, and pressuring him to make some bad throws. Arizona relies heavily on timing routes, and this pressure will definitely disrupt their passing attack. I've seen in the past that when Warner gets pressured and is running around or on the ground, that their flying passing attack gets grounded quick. Yes Edge and Hightower are a solid rb duo, but I don't see them having any success vs this Eagles D today. U of Pho stadium will be rocking today, but I just see the Philly D being the difference in this game. McNabb and Westbrook will do just enough to cover this spread on the offensive side of the ball.

Gluck playaz, and we can't wait until today's games.

Check out this video to see designer Jason Mayden giving us an inside look at the Nike Air Jordan 2009's that are coming out later this spring.

I didn't know that there was this much design and technology involved in making a shoe. I just thought someone drew them up, and then Nike made them somehow, and that was that. I really didn't really know that there is so much more that goes into making these shoes, it's actually pretty fascinating.

STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS - PLAYOFF EDITION

Suman aka Richboy's pix:
(last week 3-1)
(overall 11-7-1)

Ravens at Titans (Titans -3)

The main reason I'm doing this is when I heard the line that no rookie QB in the history of the NFL has won 2 consecutive playoff games on the road. Tennessee got some rest with their bye week, and will have Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch back to anchor that D. This game is going to be a blood bath. I know the Ravens have been doing it all year, but I just can't get over the fact that the Titans have a coach and a QB that have been there done that before, while the Ravens coach and QB are in uncharted waters. I think the public might be over the Ravens in this one, but remember that everyone saw them destroying the Dolphins last week. So their value might be inflated to very reactionary NFL fans. I don't see either team running the ball that effectively, but the Titans do have a special rookie in Chris Johnson (someone get this guy a nickname that name is boring) who I can see breaking one in this game. No way I'm missing this game, and no way I'm picking against the #1 seed.

Cards at Panthers (Cardinals +10)

Man this is another game, like that Eagles/VIkings one last week, that I won't actually be betting on. The main variable in play is how injured is Anquan Boldin. If he's out for sure, or not close to 100%, I might switch this to the Panthers. But the Cardinals showed something last week by shutting down Mike Turner. Yes, it was at home, but it was still impressive. The goal this week is Carolina's two headed attack. Carolina also one of the better offensive lines in the league. But I like Kurt Warner more than Jake Delhomme in this situation. I think the biggest reason I'm taking the Cards, besides the fact that 10 points is a lot to give in a playoff game, is that I'm not sold on the Panthers yet. This is a team that, in a must win week 17 game, blew a 20 point lead to a pass happy Saints team. Complacency? Lack of focus? I don't know, but I'm not sold. I'll take the points, and hope the Cards can jump out to a big lead thanks to some Warner to Fitzgerald mega bombs.

Eagles at Giants (Giants -4)

I'm happy that everyone seems to think the Eagles will win this one. For 92.8% of this season the Giants have been the best team in the league. This is probably the worst match-up for the Giants in round 2, but I still think they roll in this one. The Eagles offense didn't look that great last week against Minnesota, minus a few big plays, and I think this Giants defense is finally healthy enough to cause some damage. Most importantly, Earth, Wind, and Fire is back to 100%. I expect them to run the ball down the undersized throats of the Eagles..uhhh no homo. I'm not picking against the best team in the NFL. Remember, the last time these two teams played was right after the Plaxico incident so the Giants couldn't have been completely focused. I think the Giants roll in this one.

Chargers at Steelers (Chargers +7)

Main reason for this pick....to piss off Cohin Kakar. The second reason is that Big Ben is damaged goods right now. He had a concussion (thanks to Willie McGinest) 2 weeks ago, got carted off the field, and hasn't seen any game action since then. You are telling me he's gonna come out firing in this one? The Chargers are going to be head hunting in this one from the get go. Their main problem this season, a lack of a pass rush, looked like it had been solved in the Colts game as Peyton was under attack all game. And I just don't like this Steelers offense, and haven't all year. I don't like the reasoning that "they make plays when they have too." Yes Big Ben has been spectacular this year, but the fact of the matter is their offensive line sucks. They can't run. And Big Ben's head hurts. Meanwhile, Phil Rivers is playing MVP-type ball. If Darren Sproles can give them anything, I think the Chargers shock in this one. Either way, I think its going to be a close game. The Steelers defense has been amazing, but they need something from that offense. Maybe I'm stupid for going against one of my gambling rules (Don't bet against the Steelers because they never suck), but I just can't back a team whose QB can't wear a helmet right now because it hurts too much.

Vik aka Docksquad's pix:
(Last week 2-2)
(Overall 43-35-5)

Ravens at Titans (Ravens +3.5)

I know this pick is going against Richboy and against most of the great cappers today, but I really love the Ravens. I hate the fact that these two have to play each other, because they are two of my favorite teams in the way they play football. Also yes, I've officially jumped onto the Ravens bandwagon, but there are some other reasons I'm liking the Ravens today as well. I see this game being like the games earlier this season where the Ravens battled the Titans and the Steelers. Both were smash mouth football games, and in the end, either team could have won. Numbers wise, here is why I like the Ravens. They only gave up 33 sacks, so they will keep Flacco clean. Only two teams all season long have had over 100 yards rushing against the Ravens. What do the Titans do best? Run the ball. I got a chance to watch the Titans Bears game this year, and I really think this game will be like that game. The Bears completely shut down the Titans running game in that game, and forced Collins to beat them. Fortunately for the Ravens though, they don't have our bushwacker secondary, and they can get pressure on the QB. Rex Ryan will throw all sorts of different looks at Collins, and although Collins is a solid Qb, he will be getting pressured all day long, and seeing a ton of different d's thrown at him. Ed Reed will be Ed Reed, and will definitely disrupt the Titans passing game. Also the Titans are missing DE Dave Ball, and Center Kevin Mawae. Missing Mawae is big, as we saw how the Colts and Manning struggled without their Center earlier this year. Collins also has 8 picks vs this Ravens Defense in past games. Ultimately I see the Ravens either winning this game, or this being a last second fg or an ot fg game. That is why I have bought the hook in this one. The past six meetings between these teams have also been decided by 6pts or less, so I don't see this game being out of the norm in regards to that.

Cards at Panthers (Panthers -9)

Here is another game me and Richboy disagree with. I'm loving the Panthers in this spot. The Cards have been terrible on the road all season long. They are also 0-5 in the eastern time zone this year. The weather is going to be terrible today in Carolina, and even though I love him, we all know Warner struggles with fumbles in those types of situations. I also don't see Dansby stopping the two headed monster like he stopped Turner last weekend. By the second half, this Panthers physical front will wear out the Cards defense. I also don't see Rodgers Cromartie holding Steve Smith down in such a big game. Another big factor is the Boldin injury. I know the Cards have other solid WR's, but they are not Boldin. And take it from someone who has had a bad hamstring injury, these things are brutal. It takes a long time to come back from them, and there is no way Boldin is as explosive as he was prior to the injury. He might get some nice catches to move the chains, but I really don't see him taking a 5 yard pass to the house now like he normally does. And that will be huge in a game like this, because the Panthers can more focus on stopping Fitz then. On the Panthers side of the ball, they don't turnover the ball. They also got Jake the Snake who has the third highest Qb rating in playoff history. That is sick. DWilliams is also a beast, and when this physical front wears down the Cards in the second half, they will hit them with JStewart for some big runs. Also remember, the Panthers have Otah back, who has been huge for them on their oline all year long. Injuries wise the Panthers are back at full strength, and I just see them being too strong for this Cards team. Playoff football is won in the trenches, and with the running game and defense, and this Panthers team has a nice matchup in this one.

Eagles at Giants (Eagles +4)

I know this is another pick a lot of people are going to be against, but I really think this game like the Ravens Titans game, will come down to a last minute score for a win. I don't see this game being won by more than 3 pts either way, so I will take the points in this one. In these kind of rivalry games, usually all the numbers are thrown out the window, but here are some I like for this game. The Eagles sack the QB more than the Giants this season. The Eagles have a top ten offense and a top ten defense, the only team with this left in the playoffs. I think those two things are huge going into this game. We all know the Giants will want to pound the rock with Jacobs, and without Plaxico or any deep threat, I'm sure Philly will come up with a way to somehow contain the earth, wind, and fire running attack. They will also come up with some unique blitz sets to attack Eli in this game. I just think the loss of Plexi glass is bigger than some people think. I do see a highly conservative gameplan from both coaches, and there will be a lot a lot of running today. The under would be a good play in this game too. I like the fact that today no one thinks the Eagles can win, kind of like yesterday's Panthers Cardinals game. This is the playoffs baby, so anything can happen. I just think with all those things being said, that taking the 4 pts in this game would be the best play.

Chargers at Steelers (Chargers +7)

I think its time I give this Chargers team some props. I faded em earlier in the year, but they have proved me wrong the last few weeks, so I am going to take them in this spot here. They have really showed me some heart with what they have been able to do. Also to me, 7 pts is just too much for this football game. I like Pitt and their D is nasty, but with this weather, and the Big Ben injury, I just see this is as a close grind it out football game that is going to come down to the last possession. These two teams played a game earlier this season, ending in a 11-10 final decision with some controversial calls. I just see a similar game like that in this one. The Pitt D is nasty, but I just think their offense is struggling and I see them struggling today vs a Ron Rivera coached Defense. Since Ron took over, this Chargers D is giving up just 17 pts a game. If Big Ben takes one hit, it might knock him out of this game, and I wouldn't trust LeftW at all in a playoff game either. If Sproles can break something on a return or on a screen play, the Chargers have a good chance of straight up winning this game. But I think the key player in this game is going to be Antonio Gates, especially off play actions. If he can get open in the middle of the field, look for Rivers to hit him a lot in this game. I hate Rivers, but he has been playing solid football. I think him and the Chargers will do enough in this game to keep it close, so I am taking the pts.

NBA RANKINGS - by RP

DSS Readers,

Happy New Year to you and yours!

Sorry about the month long drought in rankings. Again, I have no excuses. I am lazy.

With that, I have come up with some New Year’s Resolutions/Wishes for each team. Some of them are for selfish wants…

    Your Boy,

    RP

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers (28-6) – No more 1-4 Sets, even when Z is out. Get LeBron off the ball and on the block. Please don’t trade Sasha.

  2. Los Angeles Lakers (28-6) – Give Pau a new set of balls.

  3. Orlando Magic (28-8) – Run the offense through Howard. Jump shooting teams never win championships.

  4. Boston Celtics (29-8) – Teach Rondo how to shoot. Either that or send Doc to Popovich Camp to learn about making adjustments. ASAP!

  5. San Antonio Spurs (24-11) – Good health is all they need for another run at the chip.

  6. Denver Nuggets (25-12) – Keep playing that D and find a way to maintain with ‘Melo out.

  7. New Orleans Hornets (21-11) – Get that swagger back. Seems like they are still missing a little something.

  8. Atlanta Hawks (22-12) – Grow up fast or that home court is going to be gone in a blink.

  9. Detroit Pistons (21-12) – Not sure if anything will matter. They are a lame duck like George W. at this point. Sorry players.

  10. Utah Jazz (21-15) – Get healthy fast and start that push in a stacked West.

  11. Houston Rockets (22-15) – Some consistency and less crying from T-Mac.

  12. Dallas Mavericks (22-13) – Uhhhh, break it up! It’s over!

  13. Portland Trailblazers (21-14) – Get Oden in shape and Roy back on the floor.

  14. Phoenix Suns (19-13) – Please start running again. The pathetic attempt to slow it down didn’t work.

  15. Miami Heat (18-16) – Teach Beasley how to play defense.

  16. New Jersey Nets (18-18) – Trade Vince.

  17. Toronto Raptors (15-21) – Pray that Bosh doesn’t leave.

  18. Milwaukee Bucks (17-20) – Trade Mike Redd.

  19. Chicago Bulls (15-20) – Trade Joakim.

  20. Philadelphia 76ers (15-20) – Purchase a time machine and not to pay Igoudala #1 guy dollars.

  21. Indiana Pacers (13-22) – Figure out a way to get Granger in the All-Star Game.

  22. Memphis Grizzlies (11-25) – Send McHale a Valentine thanking him for Mayo.

  23. Minnesota Timberwolves (10-25) – Trade away Al Jefferson for Wally Z! Expiring contract foo!!!

  24. New York Knicks (13-21) – Buy out Stephon, so we get to see more of him on the Celts.

  25. Charlotte Bobcats (13-23) – Hey Mike, “Congratulations on the (impending) wedding, I hope your wife know she got a player for life, and that’s no bullsh*ttin.” Oh ya, and come back!

  26. Golden State Warriors (10-27) – Pray that the Mississippi Bullet hasn’t lost his incredible athleticism.

  27. Sacramento Kings (8-28) – Move to Vegas! Sorry, I know they have great fans, but free agents don’t sign with Sacramento.

  28. Los Angeles Clippers (8-27) – Appeal Ricky D’s drug suspension.

  29. Washington Wizards (7-27) – Trade Antaawn and reward him for years of good service.

  30. Oklahoma City Thunder (5-31) – Get excited for the hometown kid, Blake Griffin. Amare 2.0. Watch out!

Since I’ve been out for a while, we won’t have a player of the week this time. Here are my early season award winners…

    MVP – LeBron James

    DMVP – Dwight Howard

    MIP – Devin Harris

    ROY – O.J. Mayo

    COY – Stan Van Gundy

STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS - PLAYOFF EDITION

After a rowdy regular season, the NFL playoffs are finally here. We have some great matchups right off the bat like the Colts and Chargers, and Falcons and Cards, so it should be a fun weekend.

Anyways, after a profitable regular season in picking, we are back with our picks of the week, our playoff edition....

Suman aka Richboy's pix:
(Last week 4-0-1)
(Overall 8-6-1)

Falcons at Cardinals (Cardinals +2)

My first instinct was to take the Falcons big in this one. But after some research I see that most people are on the Falcons. And most people are usually wrong in games like this. Warner is a former MVP and won a Super Bowl. Matt Ryan is playing in his first playoff game on the road. The Cards have been getting torn apart in the media the last few weeks for "not trying" after they clinched. So I'm hoping that disrespect + the major disrespect of being home underdogs will lead to some anger. The Cardinals probably won't make it far once they get to cold weather, but this is Arizona and its a home game. They'll be able to move the ball. I just can't see the Falcons stopping this cardinal offense. On the other hand, I can foresee a situation where Matt Ryan throws up a dud of a game. I'll take the Cards and the points in a blowout.

Colts at Chargers (Colts Pick Em)

I'm going with the Colts here because around week 4 I started seeing an All Manning Super Bowl, so I'm going to stick with that pick (actually I lie I still had Super Bowl hopes for the Browns at that point, but if you disregard the delusional part of my brain the normal
part of my brain said Peyton would somehow get the Colts there). This is a real tough game to pick, and I'm still kind of iffy on it. The Chargers have been playing great ball lately, and Phil Rivers has would have been a strong MVP candidate had the Chargers won a few more games. But if you take a closer look at the teams the Bolts have beaten in this streak to get them into the playoffs (Oakland, KC, Tampa & Denver)....all have major flaws other than Tampa Bay which basically fell apart by the end of the year. On the other hand, I can't bet against Peyton right now (the fucked up thing is that I was so sold on the Colts winning in round 1, but if you had to pick 1 team and QB to cause me doubt it would be the Rivers and the Chargers). But Peyton is on another level. Plus I think the Colts have been keeping Bob Sanders out just for the playoffs, so he should be close to 100%. The lack of a pass rush from the Chargers hurts, so I see
Peyton picking this team apart. I'll take the Colts in another blowout.

Ravens at Dolphins (Ravens -3)

I liked Miami this year, but I don't think they are built right now to beat a team like Baltimore. Miami isn't a big play offense. They methodically beat people with a solid run game and Pennington's controlled passing attack. Well that doesn't work against the Ravens. You can't run on them (unless you are the Giants or maybe Vikings) and that short shit doesn't work. You need big plays on their corners. And Chad Pennington doesn't make big plays because he
doesn't have a big arm. Meanwhile, the Ravens are going to pound this Miami defense with a 3-headed monster of a running attack. They won't make Flacco have to make plays in this one. The Ravens already beat this Dolphins team pretty badly earlier this year, and I see a repeat. Ravens in a blowout.

Eagles at Vikings (Eagles -3)

Wow I really hate this game. Lets just say I won't be betting on this game in real life. But if I had to, I would lay the points here. I really don't want to bet against Purple Jesus here but I have to. Fat McNabb and the Eagles are hot right now. They are ballin'. Meanwhile, I can't trust Tarvaris or Mr. Feeny. I hate the fact that over 80% of the betting public are on the Eagles, but I think there is a reason...nobody believes in the Vikes. Not even there own fans. I heard somewhere today that this game isn't even a sellout, and there is a possibility it will be blacked out in Minnesota. Meanwhile, Philly has that karma right now with the Eagles ripping the Cowboys in a must win last week, and with with the Phillies winning the WS this year. Although, the major reason I would take the Eagles is that I like their defense right now. They are quick to the ball, fast, and if they play anything like they did last week against the Cowboys this will be the 4th blowout of the weekend.

Falcons at Cards (Falcons pk)

I'm going to have to go against Richboy in this game. I am going to take the Falcons to win this Football game straight up. These Falcons have been an amazing story this year, and they have been money for me all year long, so I am going to ride them again in this one. I think in the playoffs you need a solid defense, and that is what was my deciding factor in this one. The Cards defense has been opportunistic, especially early on in the year, but recently they have struggled. They are giving up huge plays, and the Falcons have some big time playmakers who can take advantage of that. I definitely see Ryan hooking up with Roddy White all day in this game, and Turner torching the Cards run defense. The Falcons are the second best rushing team in the game, and they will go to that well early and often in this one. The Falcons have also been a very physical team on the oline and dline, and that kind of toughness definitely gets it done in the playoffs. Look for John Abraham to have a huge day in this one as well. That guy is an underrated beast, and Warner better watch his back with Abaraham lurking. In the end I see the Falcons D coming up with some stops of the Cards passing attack, and the Falcons making enough big plays in this one to win. I would also play the over in this game, as both teams will put up some big points in this game.

Colts at Chargers (Colts pk em)

This game scares me because everyone and their mom is on the Colts as the "sexy" pick of the playoffs. Usually when that happens, those teams lose early. That being said, I tried and tried to come up with a way to pick the Chargers in this game, but couldn't. Now I know the Chargers are a lot better at home, and that they have dominated the Colts the last four times they have played, but this game to me is going to come down to two things, coaching, and turnovers. I think the Colts have the advantage in both areas, and I am going with the Colts in this one. There is no way Turner outcoaches Dungy in this game. Turner is one of the worst coaches in the league, and trust me when you have a twang coach, you will always lose in the playoffs. Trust me, I know from first hand experience being a Bears fan. Anyways, the second factor is turnovers. I really do see the Colts D coming up with some turnovers in this game, and giving Manning more opportunities to win this game. I also know that the Chargers can not get any pressure on the QB, and that will allow Manning to sit back in the pocket and carve up this weak Chargers secondary. LT is also hurt, but is going to play, and although he has been great in recent weeks, I just don't see him having a big game in this one. I've been fading the Chargers all year long, and I will do it again once more here. They have proved me wrong the past couple of weeks, but their opponents have been jokes compared to this streaking Colts team. No one wants to play the Colts right now, and I will take them to win this game straight up.

Ravens at Fins (Ravens -3)

The Fins have been one of the hottest teams in the league recently, winning five in a row. But if you look a little further, check out the five teams they have beaten... the Jets who were struggling, the Chiefs, Niners, Rams and Bills have been their recent victims. The last time the Fins played a good team, the Pats, they got smoked. And I see that same outcome bringing the Fins great run to an end this weekend. I know Chad is having a great year, but the Fins are anchored by their running attack, and this is a bad matchup for them. These Ravens do not give up 100 yard running games, or rushing touchdowns. The Ravens have the second best rushing D in the game, and that will be huge in this one. The Ravens on the other hand, have been playing some great football as of late, and their D has been stout as usual. But for once, the Ravens are also scoring pts. Their rookie QB Flacco has been great all year long, and Flacco is great on the road and has a 91.7 road Qb rating, the third best in the league. Ravens also have the fourth best running attack. Their three running backs are kind of underrated. They will pound you to the ground, especially in the fourth quarter, as we saw in that Cowboys game. In the end I see this being a hard hitting, low scoring, grind it out football game, and that will play right into the Ravens gameplan. Ravens will win by double digits and finish off what was a great run by the Fins this year. They will definitely be a solid team next year as well.

Eagles at Vikings (Eagles -3)

Let me give it up to the Vikings. Even though I hate them, they have been hot, and they deserved to win the NFC North this year. Their D line has really stepped up with Allen leading the way, and Apete is just Apete. Even when he is hurt. That being said, I still just don't see how I can put money on TJax being their Qb in a playoff game. Random tidbits, but the Vikings are also 5-11 vs NFC East teams in the playoffs. The Vikings are also missing DE Ray Edwards, and Pat Williams and Berrian are still nicked up from their injuries. Those are some really valuable players to this Vikings team, so that will come into play in this game as well. The Eagles are also a hot team, after coming off of a waxing vs the Boys last weekend. They will need McNabb, Westbrook, and DJackson to light it up on offense, and they will need their blitzing, ball hawking Defense to come up big if they want to win this game. And I see exactly those things happening in this matchup. The Eagles are also the only team left in the playoffs with a top 10 defense and offense, which is huge. Every year a team that barely gets into the playoffs makes a run, and this year, I think the Eagles can be that team. The Eagles fourth ranked run D will come up with a way to stop Apete. Jim Johnson is too smart and too experienced not too. The Eagles Tra Thomas, will also do well vs Jared Allen, after shutting down Demarcus Ware last weekend. And lastly, Asante Samuel does look like he will play tomorrow, which is big for the Eagles. I really think this game comes down to coaching and the Qb position, and the Eagles have the advantage in both.

Remember the spreads we put up in our picks, that is what we put our bets in at, since the lines have moved a lot for these playoffs games. We also bought the hooks. Gluck to everyone!!!
