WADE'S WORLD CHARITY WEEKEND

If you have ever checked out my site, then I'm sure you know that I'm a huge DWADE fan. MU REPRESENT BABY! Well DWade is back in the Chi this weekend, and it's for a very good cause. Wade is hosting his annual Wade's World Charity Weekend, and it's going to be great. The Charity Weekend is basically a 4 day Fundraising Event, where all the net proceeds benefit the Wade's World Foundation, and different local Chicago Community Organizations.

Chicago is my home and it’s always had a special place in my heart,” said Wade. “The Wade’s World Weekend is all about giving back to the city that helped raise me. The success I’ve had throughout my career has given me the chance to inspire a generation of kids and I am fortunate to have this opportunity to make a difference.”

This will be the third year of Wade giving back to his hometown of Chicago. Chicago, we definitely need to show our man DWade some love for helping out our community, so be sure to check out the event he is hosting on Saturday. I'll be there, so let me know if you any of you are going to be headed there. Here are the details if you are interested. The Event is on Saturday, 9/12...

A big part of the Wade’s World Foundation 4-day charity event is the “D. Wade’s Chicago Has Talent” event hosted by comedian Gary Owens on 9/12 at Harris Theater @ 7:00pm CT in Millennium Park. Fans can get tickets for just $15. American Idol contestant Michael Johns will be performing. Tickets are available at www.wadesworldfoundation.org

Here's a little bit more about his charity...

In June, Wade hosted his 5th Annual Dwyane Wade Basketball Camp for nearly 700 kids from the Chicago and Robbins area at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island. Participating kids were treated to two days of basketball instruction by Wade, as well as with local high school and college coaches and special invited guests.

The mission of Wade’s World Foundation is to help inspire and provide support to community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for kids in at-risk situations so they have the necessary tools they need to leave a positive footprint within their community and succeed in their life experiences. Since the foundation launched in 2003, Wade and his family have been committed to giving back in Chicago, South Florida and throughout the country. Additional programs supported by Wade’s World include The Summer Groove with Alonzo Mourning, Wade’s Annual Christmas Party for South Florida youth, spending time at Miami’s Children Hospital, fulfilling Make-A-Wish Foundation wishes, providing back-to-school supplies for students and spending time with children and families in need. More information on Wade’s World Foundation can be found at www.wadesworldfoundation.org

Again, this is all for a great cause, so definitely try to come out this weekend and support Wade and his charity. I'll be going to the Events on the 11th, and the 12th, and I can't wait! GO DWADE! GO MARQUETTE!!!
