STONE COLD LEAD PIPE DOCKS

We are back for the last week of regular season, so hopefully we can pick some winners for you guys. Suman is filling in for IP, and he hopes to get over .500 this weekend with some tight picks. I'm also trying to bounce back this week after my worst day of picking ever. I dropped a big 0 for last weekend, which is unacceptable, so I'm hoping to make up for it big this Sunday. So anyways, here are our picks for the weekend, gluck!!!

Lions at Packers (Lions +11)

This game is really meaningless for both teams. I just think its a little less meaningless for the Lions. A win is the difference between mere futility and historically bad futility, but I guess that's like saying the shit you take after a night of binge drinking and late night burritos is worse smelling than any other shit you take...yea I guess that's true but who cares we are still talking about shit and it all stinks. The Lions aren't built for the cold at Lambeau in December, but I just have the feeling that this game will turn out to be a heartbreaking Lions loss instead of a blowout Lions loss. The Packers won't want to be the team that lets the Lions off the hook, and after seeing Kevin Smith and Megatron give heartfelt interviews this week I know that team will still be playing their hearts out. So I expect a close game.

Bears at Texans (Texans -2)

Sometimes I feel like I know what my man Bill Simmons is going to write in his next column just because since I started reading his columns I started viewing the sports world through a Simmons prism. For example, after the Texans started ripping off wins including against the Titans a few weeks ago, even though they started doing so after their season was essentially over, I knew that everyone would jump on their bandwagon. I thought they would become the "it" team for next season like the 49ers in the '07 offseason, and the Browns last year. Sure enough, Simmons wrote about this in his next column. He basically said buyer beware. Well I gotta say its going to be enticing to pick them as a playoff team next year. Mario Williams might be the best DE in the game, Andre Johnson might be the best WR in the game, Steve Slaton and Matt Schaub form a solid backfield, and for at least one more week they are going to look like world beaters and take the Bears out. But be careful picking them as your surprise team next year...things aren't always what they seem.

Browns at Steelers (Steelers -10)

Big Ben and most of the Steelers' starters probably won't be playing much if at all this week. Who cares. The Pittsburgh legend Bruce Gradkowski (also known as the guy the Browns picked up off the street because all their QB's are getting injured and abused) probably won't last the game, and god knows who is behind him. Braylon won't show up, Romeo already has half his bags packed, and I'm pretty sure 3 or 4 college teams could take the Browns right now. Meanwhile, Byron Leftwich will be auditioning for a gig next year. This is going to get ugly. What better way to end another chapter in Cleveland Browns history! At least the Cavs play on Sunday night.

Skins at Niners (49ers -3)

These are 2 teams headed in completely different directions. Singletary has the 49ers in contention every week. I don't know if its 100% true, but since he took over they seem to be playing a lot tougher. I think I've picked against them twice too, and got burned both times. Well no more. The Redskins have to travel out west on Christmas weekend (ya I can't see them really getting excited for this game), and are falling apart at the seams. What started off as such a promising season for the Skins and Jim Zorn (remember people were saying they were the best team in the league earlier this year, and that Clinton Portis was an MVP candidate!?!?) will probably end up with Zorn getting fired.

Boys at Eagles (Eagles -1)

This is just a completely weird line and game...I don't know why I'm picking this other than I think its a setup for Vegas. I think everyone and their mother will take the Cowboys +1 in this one because c'mon, the Cowboys gotta be in the playoffs, right? Can you imagine if this team which so many people picked as their Super Bowl favs, which added how many big name free agents, and even traded away next years draft for a WR they haven't been using...can you imagine what will happen if they don't make it? Jerry Jones' face might unravel and entire cities in North Texas might go up in flames. I don't care. I was at the airport the morning after the Cowboys beat the Browns in week one and Hopkins International was littered with Cowboys fans...it was so annoying. I'm glad their team blows fuckin ass. One of the most arrogant fan bases around. HAHAHahahhahaHAa. God am I really going to bet on fat McNabb and Andy Reid??? Maybe its decisions like this which is why I've gone 2-3 my first 2 weeks making picks.

Chiefs at Bungles (Chiefs +3)

The Chiefs have been cashing in for me all year long, so I will ride them again this week. Although the Chiefs are 2-13, this team plays hard every single game out, and is a lot better than their record. They have played some really good football teams to the wire, and I see them winning this game outright vs the hapless Bungles. The Chiefs are also in good shape being relatively injury free coming into this game. The only reason the Bungles are favored in this game is because of their waxing of the QB less Browns last weekend. But don't let that game fool you, these are still the same old Bungles. I am seeing a huge day by two guys who could be playing in their last games in their Chiefs uniforms. LJ and TGO! There is no one on the Bungles who will stop these two tomorrow, that is for sure. On Defense, I look for the Chiefs to stop Cedric Bumson and for them to look to make Fitz beat them through the air. That usually is highly unlikely, as Fitz rarely beats anyone, other than himself. The Chiefs will win this game, ad I'm going to hit up their moneyline as well. Getting 3 here is a steal...

Skins at Niners (Niners -3)

I think it is truely remarkable what Samurai Mike has done for this Niners team. When he took over, they were one of the doormats of the league this year, and they looked terrible. But ever since he became coach, they have won 4 of their last 6 games, and they had chances to win in the games that they lost. Samurai Mike has instilled the toughness that made him a great player, into this team. They are playing great football, and I really think they will use this opportunity this weekend, to finish the season with a two game winning streak. Shaun Hill probably played the worst game of his season last week, but he still was able to come back from his benching, and pull them out to a victory last weekend. I think that carries over this weekend, and I see him having a big game behind this home crowd. He has seemed to have earned his teammates respect, even from the veterans on the squad like Bruce and Spikes. With Samurai Mike being named the Niners coach for next season, I think his team will get up and play for him in this game for sure. I also see P Willis containing Portis and the Skins running attack. Their passing attack is non existence, so that will be a huge key matchup the Niners should win. The Niners D has really been playing well too, so they will shut down this abysmal Skins offense. Gore also is coming back tomorrow, so look for him to have a big day as well. I really doubt the Skins will care about this game, especially after they have to fly across country for this game. I like the Niners by double digits in this one!

Lions at Packers (Lions +11)

I have no clue why I'm doing this, as I've sworn off betting on the Lions after the first week of this season. But in the end I hate both of these teams, so I guess I will be happy with the outcome of this game, however it ends. I just think that the Lions know that if they lose this game they will go to the Hall of Fame after a 0-16 reason. These Lions do not want to go down without a fight, and I'm hoping since they hate the Packers, they will play this game hard. I also know that these same Lions took the lead against the Packers earlier this year, so maybe they can do it again? Maybe Favre can give them a call again? I'm hoping Megatron, KSmith, and Coach Super Mario Luigi can give the Lions a pre game pep talk that will keep repeating the words 0-16, and Hall of Fame as the worst team in history. I'm then hoping that all these things, combined with the fact that the Packers have struggled in the fourth quarter, and have had one of their most disappointing seasons in history, will turn into a Lions cover here. So I will take the double digit pts in this one.

Pats at Bills (Pats -6)

I don't think anyone wants to see these Pats in the playoffs this year. They are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, and their offense is blazing. They come into this matchup with a lot of motivation, and that is why I like them in this spot. I also think that if Ben Jarvis Green ran all over the Bills in their first matchup with the Pats, that Sammy Morris, KFaulk, and Lamant Jordan are going to have even bigger days on the ground. The Bills are also missing their starting LT, so Seymour, who says he is going to play, should have a big day pressuring Edwards. The Bills RB Lynch, who makes their squad go, is also questionable for tomorrow's game. They also signed RB Hall off their practice squad, so that is pointing more and more towards Lynch not playing, or not having a full work load. Yes the Bills will play for some pride and for their coach Dick J, but the Pats offense will be too much for them in this game. I see the Pats running game being the deciding factor in this one, and the Pats winning this game by double digits.

Fins at Jets (Fins +3)

I know the Jets are solid at home, and they have Favre, and this is a must win and so on. But there is just something about this Fins team that is great. They have been an excellent road team all season long, and I see that continuing this weekend. They do it with a great running game and defense, and I see them locking up Favre and the Jets offense in this game. The Fins Crowder and Allen are playing in this game, and that is huge for their defense. Joey Porter is also playing amazing football this season, and he will have this defense ready. Chad P will also run this offense like he has been doing all season long. He will also look to exert some revenge in this game, and since it's going to be cold in NY, revenge is a dish best served cold. The Jets secondary is weak and their passing D is ranked 29th in the League, which is bad news for the Jets. The Jets have been terrible ever since they got that win vs the Titans. They are just playing terrible football, and Favre has been really bad. He has been turning over the ball at a sick rate, and I really think he has some key mistakes tomorrow, that will help the Fins win. I don't know what it is, but Favre can't really play in the cold anymore either. He used to be known for his cold weather play, but he has really been struggling since last year's Bears Packers game. I really think the Jets win this game outright, but I will take the pts in this one.

Gluck everyone, and remember we bought the hooks for some of these games, and got these bets in at different times during this week.
