1) Titans (8-0) - Great teams find a way to win no matter what. They showed that against Green Bay last Sunday. (SS)
2) Giants (7-1) - Completely dismantled a Romo-less Cowboy team. But Eli has to play better next week with a showdown against the Eagles looming. (SS)
3) Steelers (6-2) - Is there any offense in the league that can handle this unbelievable defense? This team resembles the squad that went all the way in every way possible. (CK)
4) Panthers (6-2) - The Panthers are legit! They pulled through last weekend with a great comeback win vs a good Cards team, and that showed me a lot of heart. They are dominant on defense, and have a nice, consistent offense which should carry them deep into the playoffs. Teams need to beware of the Panthers. (VC)
5) Redskins (6-3) - They had no answer against a brutal Steeler defense. They definitely need to be more physical in order to compete for the NFC East title. (SS).
6) Eagles (5-3) - McNabb dominated after a slow start. He needs to bring his A game against a tough and physical Giants d-line. (SS).
7) Bucs (6-3) - The Bucs had an amazing comeback last weekend, and that win keeps them right in the hunt to win their division now. They have played consistent football all year long, so don't look for that to change anytime soon. Jeff Garcia to Antonio Bryant is becoming a deadly combo for the Bucs, and for fantasy owners alike. (VC)
8) Falcons (5-3) -How about that Defense in the ATL!? I know it was only the Raiders, but it has to be a huge confidence booster, and this team will continue to excel with a favorable matchup against N.O. coming up.(CK)
9) Jets (5-3) - Atop their division for now, the Jets are winning despite some big mistakes from Brett Favre. That is a great sign because we all know #4 still has a few days left in him where the Jets will win because of him. The defense is playing well and it is this unit that will need to take the lead when the cold weather, "grind it out" football begins soon. (RK)
10) Bears (5-3) – It wasn't pretty on Sunday, but the Bears got a much needed win vs the Lions in a sloppy game. Combine that with the Packers losing, and the Bears alone sit atop of the division right now. But with Orton and Mike Brown going down with injuries, and with the Titans and the Packers on the horizon, we will finally get to see what this team is made of. If they can pull these games out, they will definitely be on their way to the playoffs. (VC)
11) Cards (5-3) - They have taken a friendly schedule and maneuvered it into a 5-3 record, and first place in the division! This is a good team, despite the soft schedule, and Hightower is only gonna complement their stout air attack to another level. (CK)
12) Pats (5-3) - They gave the Colts a game. Billy B has done a heck of a job coaching this team this season. (SS)
13) Bills (5-3) – Well so much for the consistent, steady Buffalo Bills! Unless two losses in a row counts as consistent. Hard to say what exactly is going wrong in upstate New York, but the lack of a running game and defenses finally getting to Trent Edwards is a good start. If the Bills lose top pass rusher Aaron Schobel for an extended period of time, this slide shall continue.(RK)
14) Ravens (5-3) - Are the Ravens that persistent, or are the Browns that bad? Most attitude in all of football, just no consistency whatsoever. They have a chance to turn it around in the 2nd half of the season with some friendly matchups coming up. (CK)
15) Packers (4-4) – a "good" loss if any, but unfortunately you don't get any faction of a win for such an effort. Hanging with the league's best team is a moral benefit, but like AR said "no moral victories" from this one. The Pack needs to build on the great play of Rodgers and keep the aggressiveness on defense in the second half of the season. Two upcoming division games may shape the future real quick. (RK)
16) Colts (4-4) – From the blockbuster we are used to, the 2008 Colts vs. Pats seems like a made for TV movie. The Colts pulled out a good conference win, but something still feels different. Manning is still getting the job done, but his surgical techniques don't seem to strike the same fear. And the defense is still not very good. Regardless of who Pittsburgh runs out there at QB, this next game is very important for Indianapolis. (RK)
17) Dolphins (4-4) - Impressive road win against a somewhat overrated Broncos team. Either way, what a turn around!! I hope my Lions use this team's success as a blueprint for the offseason. (SS)
18) Cowboys (5-4) - The Boys really need Tomo Romo back, asap!! And even Witten for that matter. It looks like this bye comes just in time for the Boys. Romo and Witten and a couple of other Boys should be back after the bye week, so look for them to try to get back into the playoff race starting next week. If they can get a couple of wins, they will be right back into the thick of things. If they lose a couple quickly, then most people's pre season NFC darlings will be watching the playoffs at home. (VC)
19) Saints (4-4) - They should be back to full strength. They have no excuses now. This is their time to win some games and move up in the standings. (SS)
20) Vikings (4-4) - Nice win against Houston, and this team isn't half bad to watch. AP is always a treat but how about those long bombs to Berrian every week? (CK)
21) Chargers (3-5) - LT should be close to 100% following the bye. I think this team is poised for a big second half. (SS)
22) Broncos (4-4) – Denver gets the Browns on a very short week and will look to create some space in an uninspiring AFC West. The defensive injuries keep piling up, so Cutler needs to find his early season flair to keep this team steady as they get healthy. Side note: I am LOVING the Brandon Marshall/Joey Porter feud that is slowly simmering to a boil…(RK)
23) Jags (3-5) - Did the Jags really just lose to the Bungles?!?! This team has a faint heartbeat right now, and unfortunately for them, I see them flat lining pretty soon. They have been inconsistent all season long, and things don't look like they are going to get better for them anytime soon. (VC)
24) Texans (3-5) – No doubt the Matt Schaub loss is going to hurt. However Sage Rosenfels is one of the more capable backups in the league. Either way, the Texans need to turn it around now or forever hold their peace in 2008. The next two games vs. the Ravens and Colts are both going to be tough, but not out of reach. (RK)
25) Browns (3-5) - Yuck. It's time for the Quinn experiment.. this might turn into the most entertaining story in football. (CK)
26) Rams (2-6) – Simply put, a less than 100% Steven Jackson will extinguish any small fire burning in this team after the coaching change. A couple more key pieces need to be acquired before this team is a steady competitor. Which is disappointing because their division is horribly winnable. (RK)
27) 49ers (2-6) - Let's see if Samurai Mike's pant dropping and VDavis ripping session will inspire the team after this bye week. After starting out hot, the Niners look like they will be playing for next year. Mike will need to have a good showing, or if he'll be looking for another job next year.
28) Seahawks (2-6) – Is Mike Holmgren at the point where his alarm clock goes off in the morning and he stares at he ceiling wondering what excuse could keep him in bed that day? This offense needs one of those Staples "easy" buttons because it's a complete mess. (RK)
29) Chiefs (1-7) - I got to give it to the Chiefs, they have not stopped battling all season long. They have been in a ton of games this year, and they have suffered some tough losses. They blew a huge lead last weekend, but I got to give them props for never giving up. (VC)
30) Bengals (1-8) - HALLELUAH!!!! VICTORY!!!! Something to celebrate in the bye week! Maybe Marvin should borrow some of Dallas' babysitters to accompany the players though. (CK)
31) Raiders (2-6) - It's all over. Are they worse than the Lions possibly? Is that even possible? (CK)
32) LIONS(0-8) - All offseason and during the season, Marinelli preached that players had to earn their playing time no matter who they are. So what does Marinelli do this week? He says that Culpepper will be the likely starter on Sunday v. the Jaguars over Drew Stanton (a 2nd round pick) and Dan Orlovsky (who played well against the Bears). Once again, FIRE MARINELLI. (SS)
