While I was watching the game last night, Larry Hughes really took a nasty fall by the TWOLVES bench while diving for the ball. You could tell right away that his shoulder had popped out by the pain Hughes was in. After a little while of Hughes struggling in pain on the floor, they were able to get Hughes off of the floor and to the locker room. The announcers said we would find out more later, and the results came in today. And, the news on Hughes shoulder was not good.
The Trib article lists the following about Hughes' injury...
"Team sources said Hughes would miss six to eight weeks after dislocating his right shoulder late in the third quarter of the Bulls' 85-75 victory over the Timberwolves on Wednesday night at Target Center.
If Hughes misses six weeks, he would return Dec. 3 at Milwaukee and miss 18 games. If it's eight weeks, he would miss 24 games — more than 25 percent of the season."
With Hughes out, we can all forget about dealing Hinrich or Gordon for now. Both will log a ton of minutes now, alongside with DROSE and Thabo at the Guard position. But with Hughes out, maybe the Bulls get to showcase Hinrich and Gordon's talents and abilities, therefore increasing their trade value for once Hughes is healed. Or on the other hand, they might also struggle in the scoring dept. because of this injury. This could turn out to be a gift or a curse for the Bulls, so let's see what happens...
