Sup everyone. Hope everyone had a great week in Fantasy last weekend. If you had some players go down with injuries, want to add depth to your team, or you are just looking for some good match ups for this weekend, check out the waiver wire list below for some gems...
QB'S
- J.T. O'Sully - I hope you guys took our advice last weekend and picked this kid up, because he looked solid last week leading the Niners to their first win. The more time he gets in that system, the better he will get. His abilities also are a good fit for Martz's World, so definitely scoop up O'Sully for your bench. He will come in use for a good match up like this weekend vs the Lions, or when your QB has a bye week.
- Trent Edwards - Here is another QB we recommended last week. Edwards proved he is for real, leading great scoring drives vs the Jags defense last weekend. He also is another person like O'Sully in the sense that he has a good match up this weekend, and can be useful down the road for your team. If he is still out there and you need a backup, or some depth, pick him up.
- Gus Frerotte - The TJax experiment is officially over after 2 weeks in Minn, and Coach Childress said that the Vikings will be going with Frerotte for the rest of the season. He is usually good for a couple of solid games, and that team just has too much firepower for him to be terrible. If you are looking for a high risk, high reward kind of guy, Frerotte is it.
- Hasselbeck - This one surprised me a little bit, because I never thought I would see him on the waiver wire. Hasselbeck's been a consistent fantasy player for years, and I don't see that changing in this year. He just hasn't had anyone to throw to because of injuries, but the WR's will be back soon. They also picked up Colbert and Robinson this week for some help, and JJones is finally running well for the Hawks. If he is on your waiver wire, pick him up and stash him away, because starting in week 5, Hasselbeck will perform like the QB1 we all know he is.
- Brian Griese - It looks like Griese is going to be TB's starting QB going forward. Coach Gruden seems enamored by him, and is starting Griese over a healthy Garcia this weekend vs the Bears. If you are in desperate need of a QB, or are in a two QB league, Griese might be a good pickup for you. He will be good for his usual 200 + yards a game, and 1 td a game. Nothing great, but not terrible either. TB's offense does have some play makers on it, so you never know.
- Kerry Collins/ VY - Kerry Collins is another QB in the Griese mold, smart veteran who will put up decent numbers and be consistent. If you are badly in need of a QB, and Collins is out there, he won't be a bad pickup for a bye week. VY - If he is on your waiver wire, scoop him up and stash him away. He will be back, and I still think he has some good football left in him.
RB'S
- Mike Bush - If he is still on your waiver wire, scoop him up fast. Last week he finally got to play, and proved he can score TD's. He is a big guy and he will definitely get their goal line carries as well, especially with Fargas out with a groin injury. The big thing also is that RUN DMC has the dreaded turf toe injury. You know the injury that has been hindering Antonio Gates and LT and limiting their playing time. If Mike Bush gets the majority of carries there, he is capable of having a breakout season. He was the man in college at LVille(thanks Cohin), so maybe he can do it again with the Raiders.
- Sproles - If we thought Jacob Hester was going to be the RB2 in SD if LT went down, we were wrong. Sproles got to showcase his talents last week with LT limited, and he produced. He is also a great Special Teams returner and has the capability to take one to the house at any time, like he already has this season. If he is out there, get him quick.
- Pierre Thomas - Here is a kid I've been hyping up forever, and starting him in the flex spot last week paid big dividends for me. With Deuce slowly coming back, and down to RB3 on the depth chart, Thomas will get the goal line carries for a high powered offense in the Saints. This should continue going forward, so Thomas is a great flex spot player.
- Brandon Jackson - With Ryant Grant still not a 100 percent from his hammy injury, Jackson is a must have for Grant owners. He also isn't a bad pickup for anyone, since hamstring injuries are known to linger forever. He looked good last week with his TD run, so if Grant is out, Jackson can have a huge year.
- Fred Jackson - If you are in a PPR league, scoop him up quick. Lynch is coming out on third downs, and the Bills coaching staff loves Jackson. They are looking for ways to get him the ball, and that is always good news for fantasy owners. Look for his output to keep going up as the season progresses.
- Ward - A lot of people are dropping Ward after Bradshaw's big weekend last weekend with the Giants, but I think this is a mistake. Ward is still the RB2 with the Giants, and he is a very complete running back. He is capable of having some huge games, so it might be worth taking a flier on this kid if he is still out there.
- Steve Slaton - Some people might have cut this kid because of the hurricane week last weekend, if they were in a roster crunch. Don't forget he is the starter in Houston, especially with Ahman Green still banged up. He might be a good all around RB for the Texans, so keep an eye on him.
WR'S
- Justin Gage - I doubt he is still out there, but if he is, he is a solid pickup. Kerry Collins seems to love him, and Gage came through with a TD and a nice game last weekend.
- James Jones - A kid we recommended last week. AR loves Jones, and last week in his first game back from injury, he caught a TD pass. GB's offense looks like it will be airing it out a lot this year, so Jones is a nice WR3 for your squad.
- Matt Jones - Jones came through for me last weekend, with a nice overall game. He is the leading Jags WR and is getting a ton of looks from DG. It was a good sign that he caught a lot of balls in week 2, because consistency has always been an issue for Jones. It looks like he is here to stay, so pick him up if you are in WR need.
- Antonio Bryant - I know a lot of people cut him after his horrible weekend, but he might be worth a pickup starting this weekend. Griese loves him, and with Joey Gallo going down, Bryant is the new starter in TB. He has always had the physical tools to be a good WR, so if you have a roster spot to take a chance on someone, this might be the guy to do it with. Maybe pick him up and see how he does before you start him, but he is definitely worth a roster spot in my opinion.
- Kevin Curtis - We know you watched MNF and saw McNabb light up the scoreboard. He is back, and when Curtis comes back, he will become McNabbs go to WR. Curtis is said to have been recovering nicely, and will be back in a couple of weeks at the most. Definitely worth a slot on your squad if you need WR help.
- Chansi Stuckey - 2 games, 2 TD's. Favre loves to fling it, and Stuckey looks like a every week contributor now. I still want to see more from the kid, but he has produced well for 2 weeks now in a row, so we can't discount that.
- IBruce - This fantasy legend is available in a lot of leagues right now. I know he is old, but he can still produce for you in a Mike Martz offense. Had a great weekend last weekend, and with Martz airing it out, Bruce might not be a bad pickup.
- Lloyd - I know no one wants a Bears WR, but if you are in desperate help for a WR in a 14 team league with 3 WR's, Lloyd is not a bad pickup. I watch every Bears game, and Orton looks to him a lot. He is also a deep ball kind of guy, and contributes on Special Teams as well. His role is also said to have been expanding, and he is a WR1 on the Bears offense. If Orton can throw a better deep ball, Lloyd might have some value. If you are in a PPR league, he will be a decent pickup as well.
TE'S
- John Carlson - I recommended this kid last week, and he produced. With no WR's in Seattle, Hassleback needs to fling the ball to someone, and Carlson has proved to be worthy. He has another decent match up this week, so pick him up if he is a free agent.
- Des Clark - With G-REG'S fumbilitis last weekend, look for Clark to get a more expanded role with the Bears offense. He has been the most consistent pass catcher in the offense over the past few years, and he is looking great again this year. He also runs deep routes and will be good for some TD's as well.
- Dallas Clark - Some people dropped Clark because of his injury, but he is fine and will be back soon. Manning loves him, and he will have a great year once healthy. Pick him up quick if someone dropped him.
- LJ Smith - I know he had 0 catches last MNF, but he is a good TE. Keep an eye on him because he has all the physical tools to be a great TE, but he needs to apply it in a game first. And needs to stay healthy.
DEF
- Buffalo - They have been solid so far this season, and they have another great match up this weekend as well.
- TB - They have been consistent for years, yet they are pretty much on every waiver wire out there. Pick them up!
- Ravens - If someone cut the Ravens D last weekend because of a roster crunch, scoop them up ASAP. The D looks great and their special teams are great. Will definitely get you a lot of points.
That's about it for this weekend. Hope you guys have a great week, GLUCK! Check back soon, and feel free to email me any questions you might have for this weekend, or at any time. Docksquad33@gmail.com is the email address you can reach me at.
