FANTASY WORLD

Sup playaz, I hope everyone is doing well this weekend. I'm sure all of you are ready for the start of the NFL season, because I sure as hell am. And with football finally kicking off, it also means Fantasy Football is kicking off for all of us FF addicts. Anyways this year I'm going to be making a couple of weekly fantasy posts, one which will be posted early in the week for waiver wire pickups, and one towards the end of the week a sort of Start 'Em, Sit 'Em kind of post. Hopefully you guys can check in from week to week and get some helpful information. I'm also hoping some of you guys can chime in by sending us some emails, or posting in the comments section. I'm sure I won't be right all of the time, but over the years I've done pretty well in Fantasy Football, so I thought I would give this a try and start posting about it.

I've come up with a list of players for the QB/ RB/ and WR's positions ( the most important players in your league) that I love/ hate for this upcoming season, so check it out below and let me know what you think...

Love...

QB'S - Now we all know Brady, Manning, Romo and Brees are going to be the first four Qb's taken in every single draft out there, and that's understandable because all of them will have good fantasy years as usual this year. But, here are some other Qb's who I think are going to have huge years.

McNabb - I know you guys are going to say the usual, he is always hurt and he has no WR's, but trust me, McNabb is a 100 percent healthy, the Eagles are going to be back this year, and he is going to put up solid numbers like he used to.

Schaub - I love, love Matt Schaub this year (no homo). If you check out his numbers from last year when both himself and AJ were healthy, they are awesome. He avg'd over 250 yards a game and over 2 tuddys a game. This year him and AJ are a 100 percent healthy, they have no running game, and they will definitely be airing the ball out this year, so all signs point to Schaub having a big year. If you miss out on a top 4 QB and want to wait until the later rounds to get a QB, Schaub is your man (no homo again).

Big Ben - I don't think Big Ben's numbers last year was a fluke like some people are claiming they were. The Steelers will be throwing early and often, so I look for him to have another big year this year. I also love the emergence of Santonio Holmes as a big play WR this year, so look for Big Ben to connect with him a ton this season. Big Ben is definitely a great mid to late round pick, so keep an eye on him in your draft and if he is there late, definitely grab him.

Kurt Warner - KWarner is a high risk, high reward kind of pick this year, but is definitely worth a great flier in the later rounds. He has a sweet week 1 match up, and has great weapons around him this year to have a big year. The only risk with Warner is that he always gets hurt. When he plays though, the guy is a fantasy stud. His second half of the season last yr was better than even the top 4 QB's that we talked about earlier. Look for Warner to sling it all over the place and deep to Boldin and Fitz all day.

Cutler - Here is another Qb that I love this year. I've been a part of a ton of drafts this year, and you can get Cutler really late in most of them. I really see Cutler breaking through this year and having a monster year. Him and this Broncos offense are going to put up a ton of pts this year, and look for Cutler and Brandon Marshall to have huge fantasy years. Everything I have seen, heard and read about Cutler is definitely pointing up.

Favre - I am loving BF this year fantasy wise. Probably because you can get him on the waiver wire or in the 2nd to last round. He's a great value pick. He has a nice offensive line, two nice WRs in Cotchery and Coles, and some nice RB's that are led by Thomas Jones. He will be a pretty consistent producer of pts if you are looking for a nice late round steal.

Kitna - Another nice late round pick I am really liking this year. They will be down early, they don't have a consistent, proven running game, and he has two amazing WR's. This to me spells big fantasy year. CJ and Roy are two sick WR's and I look for both of them to have big years as well. Kitna will definitely put up big numbers week in and week out, so if you need a QB in the later rounds and everyone above has been taken, go with Kitna.

Hate...

Carson Palmer - A lot of people are going to be mad about this one here, especially those of you that took him with an early pick in their draft. I see Palmer having a decent year, but not a year worth a top 5 round pick. I just think you can get QB's who will have as good or better years as Palmer in the later rounds. His OLine is still questionable, and Palmer had a bad fantasy year last year. Until I can see some consistency from the Bungles and from Palmer, I wouldn't drop an early pick on him.

Hassleback - He's been a consistent QB for years, but I see a drop off in his numbers coming this year. I just feel again that you can get better QB's later than wasting an early pick on Mr. Hasslehoff early. His group of WR's scare me, as do his RBBC. I just don't see a big year for Hassleback this season fantasy wise.

Eli- I know hes the Super Bowl MVP and I know the Giants are a good football team, but I'm just not buying Eli as a strong fantasy performer this year. He is just way to inconsistent for me, and the Giants are definitely going to be pounding the ball on the ground a lot this year. They also play in a killer division where they beat up each other, so I'm going to pass on Eli overall.

AR - I'm treating this as AR's rookie season this year, and I see him having a lot of ups and downs. I know he has been in this system forever and knows the offense, but knowing the system and playing vs some solid defenses and getting hit is a different thing. He's also been hurt a few times, so let's see how he holds up injury wise. Some fantasy players are thinking that AR is going to have a huge year because they can just plug him into the Packers Offense, and boom AR will put up AR type numbers. That's definitely not going to be the case for AR this year. I look for the Packers to rely more on Ryan Grant and their running game early, and I look for some peaks and valleys by AR. Pass on him as your fantasy QB.

Campbell - A lot of people thought he was emerging last year before his injury, but I don't think that is going to be the case for Campbell. I'm staying away from him because I am scared of this offense. It is going to be a bad fantasy year for all of the Redskins, and I don't see Campbell putting up consistent numbers at all.

VY - Some people are looking for VY to break out this year, but I'm on the other end of the barrel on this one. I just don't see VY having enough WR options around him and his new offensive coordinator loves to run the ball. Teams are going to key in on VY himself running the ball, so I don't see him putting up huge running numbers this year. I also haven't seen enough from VY on the passing end to put him into a viable fantasy QB option this year.

RB's - I've also seen a ton of different RB's selected in over ten drafts this year, and LT, APETE, and BWEST have gone 1,2,3 in all of those. So, here are some other Rb's that I love/ Hate

Love...

Addai - If you want a consistent RB this year, snag Addai with your 4th pick over anyone else. Yes Sjax might have some huge weeks, but overall at the end of the year, Addai will give you the most fantasy pts. You can take that to the bank.

MLYNCH - Lynch was sweet last year, but that was nothing. Lynch is primed and ready to put up huge numbers this year, and I'm loving him. If you can get him in the 2nd round, you have just been given a nice XMas present! He is going to put up a ton of yards, tuddys, and receiving pts, as he turns into the upper tier of RB's this year.

Earnest Graham - If you are looking for a nice late round RB because you have taken QB or WR with your first or second pick, Earnest Graham is your man. Gruden loves him and he will work him to death this year, just like he did last yr. What's surprising is that Graham is also a nice WR out of the backfield as well, and will give you a ton of all purpose yards. But he is huge at the goal line, and will get a ton of Td's this year. Definitely a great value pick.

Brandon Jacobs - Here is another back that for whatever reason is going really late in drafts. Again if you need someone late to start right away, Jacobs is your man. They will give him the ball at least 20 times a game and the main thing is, they will use him in the Red Zone and at the goal line. Because of that he will rack up a ton of TD's on a nice balanced offense. Definitely a nice value pick in the earlier rounds.

Thomas Jones - Again, here is another great late round pick. Jones is RB1 on the Jets behind a very nice and upgraded offensive line. He also has a great Qb now in Favre on his team, which should open up more running lanes for him. He's a 100 percent healthy, and ready to go this year. Another great pick that you can take later in your draft. I'm really high on TJones this year, and yes I miss him being on the Bears.

Jamal Lewis - I know this one is going to be a stretch cause a lot of people do not think Jam will have another good year this year, but I feel otherwise. They have a great line in Cleveland and a ton of weapons on the offensive side. The team will have the ball a lot because the D is still bad, and Jam will get all of the team's goal line carries. TD's = most pts, and that's what Jam will give you.

Jonathan Stewart - I'm loving Stewart this year as a late round fantasy pick. This kid just has too much talent to stay on the bench in Carolina. They chose him the first round for a reason. And although DeAngelo Will has looked good in preseason, he has still struggled there come game time for years. Stewart is an every down back and a great Goal line back, and I expect him to put up nice numbers in the second half of the season. Keep an eye on him and grab him late if you can, especially if you are in a keeper league.

Chris Johnson - Look for CJ to become a star receiving out of the backfield this year. If you are in PPR league, take him late. The kid has blazing speed and great hands, and Tenn's offensive coordinator is already raving about how he is going to use Johnson this year. Lendale White also had durability issues last year, so look for CJ to be huge if White gets hurt.

Matt Forte - If you need a good late round value pick, Forte is your man. More than any other reason, he will just get the ball a ton of times during a game. He will get 20 plus carries a game and receptions out of the backfield as they plan to rely on him heavily on the offensive side of the ball. Nice late round pick.

Hate...

Portis - I love Portis as a RB, but I don't like him at all as a fantasy RB for your team. People are going to be mad with this one since they took him early, but I'm just not buying it. The offense there is terrible and to me he is going to struggle this year. He also is coming off a season where he got tons of carries, so let's see how his body reacts to that this year. I think there are other better backs available in the late 1st to early 2nd rounds.

Reggie Bush - I'm still not sold on Bush being a RB1 in the league. He got his chance last yr and totally struggled. He struggled so much and got dinged up so much that the Saints went through 4 other backs during the year last yr. They also got Pierre Thomas and Duece and even Stecker there in NO to steal goal line carries, so I don't think Bush is worth a high pick.

Barber - I know people are going to be mad about this one too, but I'm passing on Barber this year as well. We still need to see how his body reacts to becoming an every down back. His aggressive running style definitely will give his body a beating this year, and they have Felix Jones there to spell him. The coaches and team love Jones as well. People are projecting top 5 RB numbers from Barber, but I'm not sold on him.

Edge - Time is finally catching up to Edge. Once a great RB, Edge is not a upper tier RB anymore. All those carries have finally caught up to him and he looks like he has lost a step. The team is also high on Hightower and he will vulture a lot of TD's from Edge as well. Pass on him in the later rounds and scoop one of the other RB's we listed in the love section instead.

Ryan Grant - Favre isn't there anymore to open up those awesome running lanes from last year. He also is coming off an injury in camp, and his backup Jackson has looked great in the pre season. The line is also banged up and above all, I just don't trust AR. This team is going to go through some struggles this year, and I expect Grant to be apart of them. There are better picks that you can get in the late first round / second round.

WR's - Everyone knows TO and Moss are going to be the first two WR's taken, but here are some others I love/ hate.

Love....

AJ - Andre Johnson - I'm loving AJ this year. I have him ranked as a top 4 WR in my rankings. I am looking for him and Schaub to have huge breakout years this year. He is just a beast physically and he is Schaub's goto guy in a offense that throws the ball a ton. Snag AJ if you can early in your draft, trust me he will reward you later.

CJ - This is no surprise to fantasy owners, everyone loves CJ. But there is no way you can not take Calvin Johnson if he is there in the fourth fifth round of your draft. He is just physically a beast to the 100th level and his speed and height are not comparable to any others. He also plays in a great offense for fantasy players, and you will see Kitna throw to CJ often and in the Red Zone.

Colston - The Saints might have the best offense in the NFC (sorry Dallas) so look for Colston to have a huge year. Brees loves to throw the ball and Colston is their most consistent weapon and Brees' security blanket. He also has developed into an all around WR, so look for him to get a lot more receptions this year as well.

Fitz - Great offense, Warner loves him, I love him ( no homo). Fitz is going to have a breakout year, so if the top WR's are gone early in your draft, scoop Fitz without hesitation. He is one of the best WR's in the game and is a fantasy monster. Will give you consistent pts week in and week out.

Boldin - I LOVE Boldin this year. People might be down on him but he is going to have a monster year. I look for Boldin to finish the year as a top 8 WR. And, you can get him in the later rounds of your draft, so definitely a great value pick.

Santonio Holmes - Holmes is my favorite WR this year value wise. He will finish as a top 5 WR this year, put that down. I have him on most of my fantasy teams and have been promoting the crap out of him this year too. Big Ben will look to Holmes often so snag Holmes in your draft if you can. He has really developed into a great all Around WR and Hines Ward is finally slowing down a bit. Look for Holmes to burst out this year.

Cotchery - With the addition of Favre, Cotchery is going to have a huge year. If you need a WR later in the Draft, scoop Cotchery and don't look back. Favre will make Cotchery into a star. He has the ability to rack up a ton of receptions and it will just get even better now. Now Cotchery will even score td's , in addition to his receptions.

Anthony Gonzalez/ Tedd Ginn JR - I really like both of these former OSU WR's to have big years this season. Gonzalez had a huge second half of the season last year and look for Manning to rely on him heavily this year when he starts flinging. For Ginn, if you are in a league where you get return yards, scoop Ginn. He is also the WR1 there in Fin land, and Chad Pennington has to throw to someone. Ginn has looked great in pre season, so take a flier on him late.

Hate...

Ocho Cinco - I love Ocho Cinco the WR and the person, but I hate him in fantasy this year. He has a torn lab, and plays for an inconsistent team. I also don't trust Carson Palmer ( see above in QB's) and because of that I am downgrading Ocho this year. Hopefully I am wrong because I love Ocho Cinco and want to see some nice new celebrations.

Torry Holt - Another player I personally love, but I just don't see having a good fantasy year. STL's line is struggling and I don't see their offense putting up big numbers this year. Holt still looks good, but I think the season will wear on him and he won't put up his usual top ten numbers.

Marvin Harrison - I think the time has finally come where Wayne is a clear cut WR 1 in Indy. Harrison coming off an injury, just doesn't sell me as a top pick in the Drafts anymore. I see Anthony Gonzalez stealing a lot of Harrison's usual receptions, look for a big drop this year.

Greg Jennings - Sorry Ravi, but I just don't see Jennings duplicating his success that he had with Favre with AR as his QB. AR has not proven he can throw the long ball, and that is where BF and Greg Jennings thrived last year. Jennings is a great deep ball threat, and until AR proves he can be consisten, Jennings value is going to suffer. You can find other better WR's instead.

Lee Evans - I don't know why, but I hate Lee Evans. Every year he has a ton of hype and every year he disappoints. I think the Bills will run the ball a lot and spread the throws out around to everyone, so instead of taking Evans early in your draft, take a flier on a guy like Cotchery later.

Santana Moss - The team has a new offense, Campbell is going to struggle, and it is going to hurt Santana Moss. He also is coming off a season with a ton of leg injuries, which people say has caused him to "lose a step" this year. I don't see Moss putting up WR1 numbers.

That's about it for now, good luck to all the fantasy owners out there, and hopefully you guys can check in from week to week for fantasy updates here. Please chime in in the comments section and send us some emails if you guys are free or have any fantasy questions. Take care.
