BULLS SUMMER LEAGUE PLAY

Get ready Bulls fans, Derrick Rose will be playing his first game in a Bulls jersey starting on Monday. Derrick will start rookie mini camp on Thursday at the Berto Center, and summer league play on Monday in Orlando. I know every Bulls fan can't wait to see how DRose plays in his Bulls debut on Monday. Let's all hope it goes well, and injury free!!!

Another person of note to the Bulls organization making his debut Monday, will be Bulls Head Coach Vinny the Black. Coach DN will actually be coaching this summer league team himself, which is a rarity nowadays with NBA Head Coaches.

I personally think this is a great idea, and it will definitely help him and the team grow together throughout the summer. Now I won't lie, so far everything Vinny DN has said on tv and on the radio has sounded awesome. He is also pretty smooth in interviews and in press conferences, nh. But, no one really knows what kind of offense or defense the Bulls will be running under him. He has hinted of a Suns type offense, or a pick and roll offense, but he has also stressed defense at the same time when talking about the teams strategy. This is what has people confused, and Coach has not gone into any details at all about either of these topics. This Summer League play will actually give us a chance to see what the Bulls will be implementing on offense and defense for the upcoming season, and that is what me, the Chicago media, and the Chicago Bulls fan base are eager to see.

One other player of note in Summer League play is Tyrus Thomas. Thomas actually wants to go to the Summer League games, and work on his game. This is another rarity, because most third year players do not hit up the summer league games, ever!

I also loved this quote from Thomas in the paper today, so I thought I would post it...

"Playing a couple of summer-league games will help me get acclimated to Derrick and build more chemistry with Joakim. If that's what it takes to get to that level, that's a small sacrifice."

Thomas definitely seems like a changed man, after last season's debacle. Let's see how that and everything else pans out in Summer League play, but Monday is definitely going to be an exciting day for Bulls fans.

Yeah i read that too. Tyrus said he's learned from his good buddy and champion, Big Baby, what dedicating yourself in the summer can do for you. Hopefully, this will help him tap into that potential we all saw at LSU.
