I was able to watch the game online again today, so here are some more thoughts from the game...
- The Bullies were able to finally get a W today, which was nice. They won 89-84 vs the Pacers.
- DRose played a lot better today. He was a lot more aggressive on offense, and did a lot better defending the screen and roll today, unlike yesterday. He finished with 9 pts, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. He actually should have had over 10 assists in this game, if some of the Bullies could have finished their layups. Like I said from yesterday's post, Rose definitely looks like he will be a solid PG in the League. I know it is early, but he is definitely faster and stronger than most Pg's in the League, even right now. Just watching him play is pretty exciting, especially when he changes direction so effortlessly on the break. Only bad thing was he was grabbing his knee in the fourth quarter, and pretty much sat out a lot of it after that. Hopefully he is ok, and it is only a jam like they say, and they can bring him in for some treatment tomorrow.
- TT had a better overall game today putting up 17 and 7. Hopefully him and Rose can become familiar with each other by the regular season. His jumper is looking a little better right now, hopefully he can make that j consistently. If he does, it will help his game greatly. This might be TT's last game in this Summer League. Either this one, or one more, but then he will probably be done after that for sure.
- Kind of disappointed in how Joakim Noah has played in these past 2 games. He looks a little slow footed and is definitely not playing like he did towards the end of last season, when he was playing great all around basketball. Hopefully he can work harder on his game and be ready for the regular season.
- Keith Langford and D Nichols looked good at times. I think D Nichols has a chance to plays his way onto the roster after summer league like Thomas Gardner did last year.
- The only Pacer that looked smooth in today's game was NBDL player Earl Calloway
You can also read KC Johnson's notes from the game here. He is attending all the Bulls Summer League games, and breaks them down by quarters. Pretty solid stuff. Also, here KC Johnson's formal article about today's game, from Chisports.com.
Lastly, my favorite part from KC Johnson's notes today was this...
Scouts sitting court side are marveling at his(Rose) ability to change direction while dribbling and strength.
